Chapter 37: Rebirth Brings Change

Damiax: "Now how about a little payback from when you trapped me in the heart of Mt. Everglow?"

Ospinn: "And I feel as though our battle shouldn't have ended up with you as the victors."

Ospinn and Damiax walk further away from the base.

Jeremy: "Sorry that the Progressive Wave is too good."

The Metama, Rebirth Crusaders, and their Catalysts follow.

Dante: "Progressive Wave?"

Dominic: "It's a passive ability that alters the course of destiny to work in Jeremy's favor."

Cereza: "That sounds..."

Connor: "... broken?"

They all stop around 33 meters away.

Cereza: "Y-Yes."

Damiax's arms become that of a wolf's as Ospinn gathers a red glow.

Ospinn: "Shall we?"

Damiax sprouts the tail of a snake.

Dawn: "We shall!"

Bryant: "Spencer!"

Bryant and Spencer dodge a fireball from Ospinn.

Ospinn: "I'll wait."

The blood red aura surrounds Bryant and Cereza as Bryant changes into a fox.

Bryant/ Cereza: "Synergy Attack, Fox Fury!"

The two go berserk on Damiax.

Connor: "Spencer!"

The hazy aura surrounds Spencer and Bryant.

Spencer/ Connor: "Synergy Attack, Twin Quantum!"

Both of them move at light speeds at Ospinn.

Ospinn: "Target Wave."

The two get long, needle like chunks of energy go right through their knees as Cereza and Bryant are sent flying by a tail swipe from Damiax.

Dawn: "I don't like the look of this."

Ospinn: "I don't even need to use the Hellfire Wave."

Spencer: "That's the problem."

Damiax: "And I'm enjoying every single second!"

Dante barely dodges another tail slap by switching to bat form.

Dante: "You think that Progressive Wave is going to kick in?"

Jeremy: "(panicking) I hope so!"

They continue the battle.

Meanwhile...

The girl with the phone addiction and purple watch is just walking out of a gas station.

Girl: "(sighing) My phone is being so useless. I can't send calls or texts."

She can hear explosions in the distance.

Girl: "(sighing) Now there are fucking explosions in the middle of the desert?"

She heads for the explosions while equipping a purple Relay Gear.

Girl: "Might as well see what's going on."

She casually walks in that direction.

Meanwhile...

Connor: "(dodging) I can't keep this up forever guys!"

Connor is dodging attacks from Damiax as Dante, Dawn, and Jeremy are jumping out of the way from Ospinn's Waves.

Spencer: "We're doing all we can man!"

Spencer takes a surprise tail slap to the gut.

Damiax: "Can this Creation hurry up so I can stop holding back?"

Spencer slams into Cereza.

Cereza: "(in pain) Huh? Show up?"

Spencer throws himself off.

Bryant: "Just great."

Bryant barely dodges a surprise Target Wave.

Ospinn: "(smirking) She's here."

Strangely, Ospinn's legs walk away from the group.

???: "Oh wow, this is where you've been?"

The girl is using her Stream Echo to move Ospinn away from the others.

Dominic: "Ashley!"

Ashley has a hazy aura form around her.

Ospinn: "There's only one. Go ahead Damiax."

Damiax sprouts the wings of a bat.

Damiax: "Good."

Damiax takes to the skies.

Ashley: "Drain Wave!"

Damiax feels as though his energy is being sapped from his body.

Damiax: "(nauseous) I don't feel so good."

The blood red aura surrounds Dante and Bryant as the hazy aura burns bright around Ashley and Spencer.

Spencer: "I hope you know that you aren't getting this one out of the way."

Ospinn: "We'll see about that."

Ashley: "What kind of Stream Echo do you have?"

Spencer: "One that can use any unique Wave."

Connor: "It's not a joke."

Connor uses the Subzero Wave to freeze Ospinn in place.

Ospinn: "(in head) I can't use the Hellfire Wave. I just have to thaw myself out."

Ospinn creates flames.

Spencer/ Ashley: "Synergy Attack..."

Ospinn still can't move an inch.

Ospinn: "Flare Wave!"

He tries firing at the two, but they keep perfectly avoiding his attacks."

Dawn: "See you later, dipshit."

Spencer/ Ashley: "... Twin Regalia!"

The two sucker punch Ospinn in the stomach and-

Jeremy: "(awkwardly) I hate how I can feel his pain from here."

Ospinn falls to his knees.

Ospinn: "(in pain) Why?!"

Connor: "(awkwardly) Because you instigated a fight?"

Cereza: "What's going on over there?"

Cereza is looking at the crippled Ospinn.

Bryant: "You don't want to know."

Damiax loses his morphed body parts.

Damiax: "(exhausted) Dammit..."

The aura around Dante and Bryant glows bright as Bryant changes to wolf form.

Bryant/ Dante: "Synergy Attack, Wolf Basher!"

The two wolves head bash Damiax in the gut, causing him to cough blood.

Damiax: "(in head) That's got some bite to it!"

They land on the ground before leaping straight into Damiax's jaw.

Dante: "That's why you don't fight us."

Damiax stumbles backwards.

Damiax: "(coughing blood) You... YOU!!!"

Cereza: "You won't beat us."

Damiax barely catches his footing as Ospinn melts the ice.

Dominic: "Now what?"

Ospinn: "(in pain) We wait..."
