Chapter 56 - Assemble

Hindi na ako nakapag-isip nang matino at nagsimula akong tumakbo papunta sa direksyon ni Mama. Narinig ko ang pagsunod sa akin nina Akane pero hindi ko sila malingon dahil kay Mama lang nakapako ang tingin ko.

Two Shinigamis appeared on both sides of me and I immediately summoned my spear. I swung it in a circular motion, causing them to stumble and I used my gun to shot them in their hearts.

I kept on running toward her as Shinigamis kept on appearing around me. I let my instincts take over and I was quite surprised because I could simultenously summon my three weapons at ease.

Napahinto naman ako noong ilang metro na lang ang layo ko kay Mama pero hindi ako nakagalaw ang bigla na lang bumagsak sa harapan ko si Sir Hideo.

"Why are you here? Naomi told you to stay away from here," sabi ni Sir habang dahan-dahan siyang tumatayo.

Napatingin ako kay Mama at nakatayo lang siya ro'n sa pwesto niya. She looked confused and rattled.

"Mama—"

"Stay away, Rainie!" sigaw ni Mama sa akin habang hinihingal. Kahit nakatalikod siya sa akin ay alam niya pa rin na nandito ako.

A sinister laugh echoed in the forest and I knew who it was.

"Oh, dear. You came."

Rin materialized in front of her and I finally saw her clearly. Her cloak fluttered as she moved and her face was full of stitches but what sent chills running down my spine were here eyes. Her intense green eyes glinted ruthlessness but it looked like they have different shades. One was lighter than the other.

"You won't get her, Rin!" sigaw ni Mama habang nakatayo lang sa harapan ni Rin.

Rin scoffed. "You can't even move. How can you save her?"

Sabi na nga ba ay may mali kay Mama. Kagagawan ba ni Rin kung bakit hindi siya makagalaw mula sa pwesto niya?

Napatingin naman ako bigla kay Sir Hideo nang bigla siyang nag-summon ng weapon. My mouth hanged open when I saw what he was holding. It was a sword. A freakingly huge sword that was almost as long and wide as two people. But what surprised me more was he lifted it without even batting an eye.

He lurched toward their direction but someone suddenly appeared between them. Sarah materialized in front of Sir Hideo and she blocked her sword with a single needle.

Napaupo ako sa mga nakita ko. All of them were on a different level and it was frightening.

"Damn it, you runt! Stop running away from me! Hideo, don't move!"

From a tall tree, Ma'am Michiko jumped and she landed on Sir Hideo's sword. Sarah immediately stepped back and Ma'am Michiko stood beside Sir Hideo and Mama. Pagtingin ko ay nakakagalaw na ulit siya.

"Her sixth sense is really a pain," sabi ni Mama at bigla na lang siyang nag-summon. The next thing I knew, she was already holding her favorite fan.

"We need to be more careful," sabi naman ni Sir Hideo.

"And it looks like the number of spectators has gone up," dagdag ni Ma'am Michiko.

Doon ko na-realize na nasa tabi ko na pala si Hiro.

Several Shinigamis appeared behind Rin and Sarah and I could feel that they weren't the normal ones. One of them grumbled as he clutched his arm and I realized who they were.

All of a sudden, three people came running from the other side.

"You ugly monster! I'm getting tired of your running game!"

"Stop it, Reina."

"Please, Reina, pipe down."

Ma'am Reina, Sir Hayate and Sir Hiroshi arrived and I felt goosebumps all over my body because all the big names were gathered here. But something caught us all off-guard.

A cat materialized mid-air and she jumped toward my direction. Doon ko napansin na nakatingin na silang lahat sa akin . . . even Rin.

My heart throbbed painfully against my chest. Was she really my mother? The way she looked at me . . . it was not like how a mother would look at her child.

"Meow."

Napatingin ulit ako kay Demi at doon ko lang napansin na may kagat siya sa bibig niya na nalaglag sa braso ko dahil sap ag-meow niya. Pagtingin ko, may ilang pirasong cards siyang ibinigay sa akin.

Hindi ko alam kung bakit pero parang ang laki ng epekto ng paglitaw ni Demi kasama ang cards. The tension in this place skyrocketed that it was almost suffocating but that pressure got released when Rin suddenly moved toward my direction.
