Em wakes up to bile rising up her throat. She runs straight to the bathroom and throws up all the contents of her stomach. After a few seconds, she feels arms wrap around her from behind. Once she's done puking, Pasta lifts her up and helps her brush her teeth. He them goes to the kitchen. She goes to the room and picks up her phone. She checks the time and sees it's 8:49am.
Today is an off day for the team. Coach Cassidy decided that after their thrilling win in OT the night before, that the team should be able to celebrate St. Patrick's Day with no practice. Today, is the parade in Boston, but Em is going to drive back home to New York to see her family. Pasta will be joining her with the team the next day. Also, there's a good chance that he will be ready to play against the Islanders. If not, he'll play another game on the 4-game road trip.
Em goes to the kitchen after checking her social media and sees Pasta made breakfast.
"Thank you, baby," she smiles, kissing him before sitting down to eat.
"You're welcome," he smiles back.
He sits down next to her and begins to eat as well.
"What time are you leaving, babe?" he asks.
"Before noon, why?" she asks.
"Just to know. The guys asked me if I wanted to go to the Parade," he informs her.
"Oh, have fun," she replies dismissively.
"I won't go if you don't want me to," he assures her.
"Okay good, because I don't want you out there. Those people are crazy, babe and your dumb ass would get drunk and injure yourself again!" she replies snappishly.
"Okay, I won't go," he reassures her, kissing her forehead.
"Good, I need to protect my babies," she replies, ruffling his hair.
"You're lucky I love you," he grumbles.
"Oh please, as if you could ever hurt the woman carrying your child," she scoffs.
"You underestimate me!" he chuckles, trying to be menacing.
"Wow, those are some big words, Czech Republic!" she teases.
"I gotta become an English expert now that I'm having an American child," he replies back.
"I love you, you big dork!" she giggles, kissing him.
"I love you and our baby more," he smiles, rubbing the palm of his hand along her bump.
They finish breakfast and Pasta cleans up the kitchen while Em goes to the room to get ready. She goes to the bathroom and showers before changing into leggings, a sweater dress, and boots. She packs all her things for the road trip in her suitcase, making sure she packs warm clothes for the Florida part of the trip. Once she's done, she goes to the living room and asks Pasta to go get the car from the garage.
He agrees and goes to the garage to get her car. She makes her way downstairs with the suitcase and waits in the lobby. When he pulls up outside, she goes outside and he puts her suitcase in the trunk.
"Bye babe, I'll see you tomorrow," she smiles, kissing him.
"Alright, drive safe. Let me know when you get there," he smiles.
She gets in the car and plugs her phone in. The song Imitadora by Romeo Santos comes on. She waves goodbye to Pasta as she drives off towards New York. She gets on I-93 S and after half a mile, merges onto I-90 W aka the Mass Pike. She takes Exit 9and merges onto I-84 S. She takes Exit 57 that merges onto CT-15 S.
