xxi. 12 week bump

Em wakes up with an urge to pee and turns around to see Pasta sleeping peacefully next to her. He arrived late last night after the game in Minnesota. Thankfully, the boys have a day off before facing Tampa in the season finale tomorrow afternoon at the Garden.

Today, however, is Em's 12 week prenatal appointment and she's very excited to get some testing done and to get another glimpse of the baby.

She pees before grabbing her phone from the bedside table and heading to the kitchen. She makes coffee and starts making reboltido, now that nausea is no longer a symptom for her. She makes toast and serves all the food into two plates before putting them on a tray. She takes the tray to the bedroom and sees Pasta still asleep.

"Babe, wake up," she says, lughtly shaking him.

"Huh," he groans, turning over.

"Papí, I got breakfast for you," she giggles lightly.

"Breakfast?" he asks, opening his eyes slightly.

"Yes, breakfast," she giggles.

"Thank you, baby," he smiles, wiping the sleepiness from his eyes.

She helps him sit up and places the tray on his lap. She then goes to the kitchen and grabs the other tray and brings it to the room. She sits down on the bed and puts her tray on her lap. She then brings her food onto her tray.

"You didn't have to do all this," he informs her.

"I know, but I wanted to. You had a long 5 day roadtrip and this is the 1st time in who knows how long that I haven't woken up sick," she explains.

"Well I appreciate it and I'm so glad you're happy this morning," he smiles, kissing her cheek.

"I'm not nauseous for the 1st time in like 6 weeks and we get to see our lil nugget again," she smiles, taking a sip of her coffee.

"Are you nervous for the tests?" he asks her.

"No, if something comes up on the tests, our lil nugget is still gonna be loved and taken care of. This city has some of the best medical professionals in the entire country, so we'll be in good hands," she replies.

"Do we announce the pregnancy after the check-up?" he asks.

"Yeah, I was thinking we can take a simple bump pic and post it with a cute caption. Also, I'm planning a photoshoot for my 16 weeks," she explains.

"A photoshoot with me?" he asks.

"For this one, just myself, but we could do another one in my 3rd trimester and have you in it," she replies.

"Okay, I'm a great model," he smiles cheesily.

"Whatever you say, babe, whatever you say," she teases, kissing his cheek.

They finish eating their breakfast and he helps her clean up everything. He also helps her clean the kitchen and when they look at the time, they see it's 11:32am.

"What time is the appointment?" he asks her.

"2:30," she replies.

"Do you want to take the picture now and post it or wait?" he asks.

"Let's do it now," she smiles.

They go to the room and she sits down on the made bed. He takes a couple pictures before handing her the phone. She approves of the pics decides to post them on her Instagram and Facebook.
