Chapter 22 - Unknown Troubles

Tanners POV

When we arrived at work, Woods climbed out the car and headed straight inside. He seemed to have a spring in his step as he walked though which made me smile. I slowly got out of the car and walked into the office. CJ greeted me with a sarcastic comment. "Urgh, god damn, why is Tanner here?! Oh my gosh. My day just got sooo baddd." He smiled evily and I heard Woods chuckle from our office. 

"Dude, you hurt my feelings!" I pouted with a small smile. 

"Good!" CJ laughed as he continued to walk about. 

I walked into our office and sat down at my desk. Woods was beaming at me. I was confused for a moment but then I saw it. Somebody had changed my desktop to a meme. It was pretty funny I must admit. "Whoever did this is a genius and I love them for this." I chuckled. Woods turned his computer to me, he had the same meme as his desktop too. 

"They got me too.." He commented. I shook my head smiling to myself. 

A few hours passed and Woods and I had worked silently. I had got loads of work done. "Hey, you wanna go and get some food with the guys? I'm hungry." I asked. 

"Yeah sure. Lets go." He closed all the tabs and locked his computer before walking upstairs to get Matt. I sent a message to the group chat. We agreed to meet in orange base because Connor was over there sorting a few things out on the rekt set. 

Woods walked to orange base and I drove my car around. I got out of my car at the same time as Woods arrived. "Hey." he smiled. I returned a small smile and we entered orange base.  I lead Woods to the rekt set. He saw it and his jaw dropped. He saw Chuck building something in the back.  "Woah! This is awesome. What do you do here?" He marvelled. 

"We get to destroy stuff. It's really good to get anger out." I pointed out. 

"Am I allowed to break something? Like right now?" He questioned nervously. 

I picked up the thing that was nearest to me which happened to be a glass vase. I grabbed safety goggles and handed him them as well as the vase and then I stood behind the screen. Woods placed the vase on the table and grabbed an axe from the side of the set. He lifted the axe above his head and slammed it down over the vase. Glass shards flew everywhere and Woods' face lit up with so much excitement. His eyes were so bright. 

"Why is destruction always so satisfying. When I was angry as a child, I just used throw stuff and the sound of it crashing and breaking made me so happy. Even as an adult I feel the same. The adrenaline rush is just amazing." Woods grinned. 

I walked over to him and took the axe out of his hands. He was gripping onto it like his life depended on it. 

Gunner suddenly appeared out of nowhere and screamed in my ear. I nearly turned and punched him but luckily I held back. "What was that for?!" I yelled. I didn't mean to sound aggressive but it seemed to translate that way. 

"Chill out dude, It was just a joke. What's wrong?" I could see the confusion in Woods' face. I realised him and Gunner hadn't met yet. I passed Gunners question completely. Nothing was wrong but I just wasn't expecting to be scared like that. 

"Woods this is Gunner, my best friend. Gunner this is Woods. He's been here a week but we just haven't seen each other I guess." I informed. 

"Yeah, It's like you've been avoiding me.. I'm not gonna lie to you." Gunner commented. I was slightly shocked by this. I hadn't really been on my phone all that much and I never went specifically to see Gunner if I went to any of the bases. I wasn't avoiding him though.
