Chapter 9

Aora's POV

I just couldn't seem to forget what happened between me and Rod today at school... I was soo absent minded that I couldn't even understand what was going on around me.

After Rod left I just could not focus again... I kept on smiling till preps were over and it was time to head home... His lips were still on mine I could still feel like were kissing it felt so great... Nancy kept looking at me wondering what was wrong with me.

After packing my books she decided to talk "are you okay? "She asked

"Yeah I'm good... Why do you ask? "

"You've been smiling since after games, are you going mad siz? "

"Yeah I'm cool "I replied to her as I carried my bag and heading out of the classroom.

"Hmmm okay if you say so "she said but I didn't even turn to look at her.

I continued walking down going to the gate where Mr Bakari was nowhere in sight. As usual I decided to wait for him.. As I sat outside the game, I noticed Patty coming from behind the administration block.. She seemed quite upset I didn't know what was up so I tried calling her

"Patty! "No answer
"Patty! "No response
"Patricia !wait up "I tried running after her .

"Hey, what's going on? "I said while trying to pull her up.

"I'm just stressed out, I told you about my aunt being sick, so I just feel bad so I decided to go cry behind the admin block since at least there's privacy there"she finished as more tears fell down her cheeks.

"I'm so sorry bae, come here "I said as I pulled her into a hug. "There you'll be fine, she'll be fine soon, just pray for her and all will be well... God above everything dear "I finished and kissed her cheeks...

"Thanks love,"she said smiling at me

Mr Bakari arrived and I bid her goodbye.

"See you tomorrow "she said as she continued waving at me.

"Hope school was okay today young miss"..

"It was okay sir, thanks for asking ".

"Okay, let's get you home dear ".

After some minutes we were at our gate... I came out of the car and went directly to my room... I had mixed reactions i was happy that me and Rod did what we did but I was also sad that Patty is not okay because of her aunt...

I took a shower and since I had no assignment I decided to rest a little and wake up at 7 to help mum cook. I couldn't help but think of the kiss I was given by Rod... It was just owesome... I was just in the clouds...

"Aora! "

"Aora wake up "

"What! "

"It's time for supper, mum said you should come eat "

"Wait... What time is it? .. Why didn't you wake me up? "

"You slept so peacefully so mum decided not to wake you up... Anyway come eat ". Naty said helping me remove the duvet of me.

"Thanks dear"was all I said.

And in a few minutes we were all in the dining table taking our supper. After supper we did the normal routine and we were off to bed.

Natalia's POV

Well as you guys know I'm Aora's younger sister . Well I truely love and adore my sister. I've been with her all through and I've seen what she's been through I can say she's not a happy soul. She smiles when necessary and she's really pretty.

I always see my mum in her. Aora is beautiful and I always want her to smile so that I can see the gap in her set of teeth. I don't have it so I always want to see it in her.

Well today she seemed quite odd... She was so excited that don't know what happened to her. I thought that she had won jackpot or something. I wouldn't dare ask her cause she could have told me to mind my own business.

She was singing while taking her shower... Until I saw a message in her phone. I decided to look at it and not let her know that I was in her. Anyway as they say, what you don't know won't kill you. I opened the message and it read

Rod:hi beb, I can't stop thinking about you and our kiss today

I was shocked after reading that. I almost screamed my lungs out.

I then remembered that I was in her room. I ran outside and shut the door. But thank God she didn't hear. I just hope she'll share it with me soon .

After coming from her room I went back down stairs to watch the beat... My mum later arrived and after greetings she asked me where my sister was... "I guess she's reading "was all I could say.

"Aora!!! "Mum shouted

"Aora love!!! Let me go check up on her."I heard mum say

"Mum just don't pour hot water on her please "I didn't even look at her after saying that.

"We'll see. Your sister can study for Africa you know. "Mum said heading upstairs.

After 5 minutes mum came down and said "seems like it is you and me in the kitchen today. "

"But mu..."before I could finish

"Shut up before that pan lands on your mouth."

I couldn't argue anymore cause I knew what she was like and started cutting the onions and tomatoes.

"Mum. "

"Yes darling ".

"Have you ever wondered why Aora is always quiet and doesn't talk much, azin she's always on her own and doesn't even have friends?? "

"Well I guess it's her seriousness in her studies that's all. "

"I don't know mum, but I think something is just wrong Just that I can't put my finger on it "I lied

Of course I knew that my sister had no friends since she went through really a rough childhood. She was discriminated by her friends so badly that it reached a point she hated herself.

I feel sorry for my sister and I don't trust any of her friends especially Patty, there's just something odd about her I just can't place my fingers... But soon I'll see what she's hiding.

She's always weird around my sister she just looks fake but my sister can't see that. I know that soon she will and I'll see to it that she does.

"Well your sister was sleeping so soundly I just couldn't manage to wake her. "Mum said. Then she added... "It might be too much work in school. So I decided to let her be today ".

Indeed, if only you knew what your daughter did today in school  I thought.

After 35 minutes... "Go wake your sister, dinner is almost ready ".

"Aiih aiih captain"

Mum just smiled at me and I ascended the stairs.
