It took me a couple days to sort out the details for me to plan out every detail of the day so that Shay could just enjoy it. I wanted her to be treated like the Queen she is. I wanted her to feel like she was floating on a cloud by the end of tonight.
I get a call from the spa attendant letting me know that Shay had arrived safely and was about to start the laundry list of services I had picked out for her. Once the call was ended, I ran to the vineyard to put the finishing touches on the night's event.
The caterer had just about had it with me. The florist was about to stab me with a pair of sheering scissors she held. Brice damn near had to physically remove me from the wine cellar. Jasper just stood by and laughed while I ran around like a chicken with my head cut off.
"Calm down man," Jasper laughed watching me check every single wine glass for water stains.
"Tonight, has to be perfect," I grumbled moving to the next table of glasses.
"It will be. Man, you've been planning this for at least a week," Brice huffs plopping down in the chair next to Jasper.
"Come over here and take that stick out your ass," Jasper joists.
"Fuck you. I remember not too long ago that Claire had you by the balls almost literally," I fire back.
"How'd you know Shay was the one," Brice asks. I know he's trying to distract me, but I don't care because it causes my mind to relax and focus on Shay.
"She is literally my peace. I love coming home to her. I love how terrible her shower performances are. I love how she looks at me when she thinks I'm not looking. And how she always knows when I need her. I love when she hugs me for no reason at all except to be near me. And,"
As I'm about to get carried away Jasper interrupts me, "We get it you, sappy bastard."
Brice cuts in before I can defend myself, "Oh shut up according to Elle, you gave a very similar speech to Claire the other day while y'all were..."
"Alright, alright, I get," Jasper grumbles.
"Is that speech you just gave, going to be how you ask her to marry you," Brice asks bringing us back to the reason we're really here.
"No that would take too long and I'm saving the really sappy shit for my vows," I joke.
We sit there for another hour drinking a beer before I leave to check on a few more things before I decide to give all the staff a break from me. our talk helped me to get my head together. And on the way home I was able to prepare my speech. I was able to be home by 6.
By the time I got home, I had enough time to shower and dress before I had to walk next door and grab Shay. I about paced a hole in my floor because I had to wait for 30 minutes before I see my cupcake again.
My phone dings indicating that the car service I ordered had arrived. I pop next door to grab Shay.
When she opens the door, I am stunned at how gorgeous she is as always. Her makeup is light, and her skin is glowing. Her hair has been pressed out and placed into an artful up-do. Everything about screamed simple and sexy. She looked just as amazing as always. And wore my favorite perfume of hers. She looks like an angel and smells of vanilla lavender.
"Wow, baby you look fantastic," I breathe heavily. I walked toward her pulling her into me like I hadn't seen her in weeks.
"Really," she squeaks shyly, "I thought I might a little underdressed."
"No, you're perfect," I tell her pulling her impossibly closer and staring into her eyes, "but if you want to change, I will wait for you."
"No, I'm fine. As long as you approve, I don't give a shit," she smiles.
"Let's go then," I smile at her interlocking our fingers leading her to our ride, "Your carriage awaits, cupcake."
