Chapter 30 ♡

Gwen's P.O.V

"Who else is here? I heard you talking" Draco asked shaking

"Draco you are no assassin" Dumbledore said with empathy etched onto his face

"How do you know what I am? I've done things that would shock you" He replied raising his wand higher

What was he doing? I looked over to Harry and saw he was ready to jump out into action if needed

All of a sudden it hit me, the reason why Draco avoided me, why he became so lifeless, why he was always on edge. He was a death eater.

I felt my heart drop as I started connecting the dots, I've been so blinded by my love for him that I never acknowledged what he was capable of.

I just needed the confirmation and so I listened on more intensely

Dumbledore then named all the horrible events that happened this year

He cursed Katie Bell, he left that poisoned bottle with Slughorn.

But why? What's was his goal?

"Trust me, I was chosen" he said as he pulled up his sleeve

My questions had finally been answered

There on his left arm was the death eater symbol printed on his pale arm

I gasped and hit my back on the wall behind me

I felt tears brimming out my eyes

"Expelliarmus" Draco yelled as he disarmed Dumbledore

Just then I heard a door opening, others, there were others

Dumbledore also noticed and questioned how

I never finished mending the cabinet, so how?

"The vanishing cabinet, in the room of requirement, I've been mending it" he said

I was so confused at this point, he's been mending it alongside me all year and I didn't even notice.

Then it hit me, that's why Snape had told me I could lay off the mission, all this time he knew Draco was mending it too except he got the job done.

I felt anger coming onto me as I clenched my hands

He went on to explain how and where the cabinet's sister was

Dumbledore was trying to bargain with Draco now

"I don't want your help, don't you understand? I have to do this, I have to kill you or he's gonna kill me" Draco said tears now falling out his eyes, I saw the regret forming in them and how sacred he was

He was shaking uncontrollably as was I

He had lowered his wand now but just then Bellatrix and the others had come upstairs to which he raised his wand back up

I felt my skin boling right now, how could they?

We were both assigned the most horrid mission and yet Draco had it worse than I did and on top of that he took on what I had to do and didn't even think about it twice, he did exactly what they wanted him to do without any shame
