Chapter 2

Stepping of the jet I scan over the agents nearby until my eyes land on a certain red head assassin making me smile and head over to her. Most people are intimidated by Nat but not me, once you get to know her she's one of the funniest and kindest person you will know.

"Hey looking good Nat, work has it you had to bring in a certain scientist" I say walking in front of her making her smile

"You heard correct. How have you been? Working on anything new?" She asks as we walk along the hellicarier over to a couple of jets

"Not to bad beside putting up with Tony and Pepper and their painful love life, I'm good. So who else is Fury bringing in?" I ask her as we walk past a group of agents

"We'll your brother hopefully, Doctor Banner and Captain Rogers" Nat replies making me scoff

"Rogers? Seriously? I spent my whole life hearing stories about how so amazing he was, it's annoying. I mean he's what like 90 years old and he's a complete-" I start to say when I see what I'm assuming is him step out of a jet with Coulson " Hottie. Why wasn't he brought in sooner?" I ask Nat as we walk over to him.

"Agent Romanoff, Agent Stark. Captain Rogers" Phil says introducing us and I have to admit maybe working with Rogers won't be that bad after all.

"Ma'am?" Rogers says to us a little nervous making him seem pretty cute

"Hi."Nat answers with a nod

"Hey" I say with a smirk before turning to face Phil "They need you on the bridge. Face time." I tell him

"See you there" He replies before walking off leaving Steve with me and Nat. We start to walk towards the railing of the ship where there is another jet just in front

"There was quite the buzz around here, finding you in the ice. I thought Coulson was gonna swoon. Did he ask you to sign his Captain America trading cards yet?" Natasha asks smirking amused at a very confused Captain

"Trading cards?" Rogers aks raising an eyebrow

"They're vintage, he's very proud" I add with a smile as we walk over to Doctor Banner who looks rather lost and confused.

"Dr. Banner." Rogers says as he walks up to Doctor Banner and shakes his hands."Oh, yeah. Hi. They told me you'd be coming." Banner tells him

"Word is you can find the cube." Steve says to him

"Is that the only word on me?" Banner replies clearly worried about the other guy

"Only word I care about."Rogers replies as the kind gentleman he his

"Must be strange for you, all of this?" Banner asks Steve waving his hands around.

"Well, this is actually kind of familiar" Steve says as I get a message through my ear piece

"Gentlemen, you may wanna step inside in a minute. It's gonna get a little hard to breath." I tell them stepping forward with a smile and the hellicarier starts shaking making both men jump.

"Is this is a submarine?" Rogers asks making Nat and I share an amused look

"Really? They wanted me in a submerged pressurized metal container?"Banner asks as they both move closer to the edge of the hellicarrier

Me and Nat lead Banner and Rogers through the corridors of the Hellicarrier to where Fury is both of us amused at their faces each time they walk past a different room. We walk into the main are where Fury is and Rogers walks forward and pulls out 10 bucks before handing it to Fury who takes it with a smile before walking over to Banner "Doctor, thank you for coming."Fury tells Banner shaking his hand

"Thanks for asking nicely. So, uh... how long am I staying?"Banner asks clearly worried and I lean on the railing besides Rogers

"Once we get our hands on the Tesseract, you're in the clear."Fury tells him with a kind smile

"Where are you with that?"Banner asks adjusting his glasses

"We're sweeping every wirelessly accessible camera on the planet. Cellphones, laptops. If it's connected to a satellite, it's eyes and ears for us."Phil explains to him walking up beside Fury

"That's still not gonna find them in time."I say to Phil worrying about Clint. Beside Nat, Clint was the only other agent that new everything about me, they were the only two I trusted. I also can't imagine how Laura is feeling especially as she is currently pregnant for the second time.

"You have to narrow the field. How many spectrometers do you have access to?"Bruce asks no one in particular

"How many are there?"Fury asks him stepping forward

"Call every lab you know, tell them to put the spectrometers on the roof and calibrate them for gamma rays. I'll rough out a tracking algorithm based on cluster recognition. At least we could rule out a few places. Do you have somewhere for me to work?"Bruce asks Fury after giving out his orders

"Agent Romanoff, would you show Dr.Banner to his laboratory, please."Fury asks Nat who nods and walks off leading Bruce down the hall

"You're gonna love it, Doc. We got all the toys."Nat tells him and I can pratically hear the smirk in her voice. After Nat and Banner disappear down the corridor, I shift my focus to Rogers who stands beside me rather awkwardly making me smile.

"So how you holding up Captain? This must be incredibly weird for you?" I ask with a smirk as I face him

"A little bit ma'am" Rogers replies making me smile at his cuteness

"Please Captain its just Kathleen, ma'am makes me feel old" I tell him politely making him blush

"My apologies ma-Kathleen" Rogers says with a smile

"You know Captain, your not as bad as I though you'd be. I can see why my dad wouldn't shut up about you when I was younger"
