Chapter 23

"Thor, I got a plan!" I hear Tony say as I finish loading everyone safely  on board 

"We're out of time. They're coming for the core." Thor replies

"Avengers, time to work for a living." Tony says and I make way over to the church to meet with the rest of the team "Romanoff? You and Banner better not be playing "hide the zucchini."" Tony says as we wait for her and Bruce to join us

"Relax, Shell-head. Not all of us can fly." Nay says before her and Bruce join us as "What's the drill?" Nat asks

Tony points to the Vibranium core as he answers "This is the drill. If Ultron gets a hand on the core, we lose." Tony explains just as Ultron turns up and we fight of some robots

"Is that the best you can do?" Thor shouts and Ultron then summons his army of robots to join him

"You had to ask." Steve tells Thor as the robots start heading towards us

"This is the best I can do. This is exactly what I wanted. All of you, against all of me. How could you possibly hope to stop me?" Ultron asks us

"Well, like the old man said. Together." Tony says and I create balls of fire and throw them at the robots as they attack us. Throwing fire left, right and centre I make sure to help everyone by stopping the robots attacking them by melting them.

"You know, with the benefit of hindsight.... " Ultron starts to say but suddenly Hulk knocks him far away and the robots start to retreat

"They'll try to leave the city." I state as I wipe blood of my cheek

"We can't let 'em, not even one.Rhodey" Tony calls

"I'm on it." Rhodey says before he starts talking to the approaching robots "Oh, no, I didn't say you could leave. War Machine, comin' at you, right ... " Rhodey starts to ramble but just then Vision flies in and helps to destroy the robots "Okay, what?" Rhodey questions

"We gotta move out. Even I can tell the air is getting thin. You guys get to the boats, I'll sweep for stragglers, be right behind you." Steve orders us

"I'm not leaving you Steve" I tell him being serious

"Go, i'll follow you soon" Steve says kissing me quickly

"What about the core?" Clint asks

"I'll protect it." Wanda speaks up and we all turn to her "It's my job." Wanda says and hesitantly I follow Nat and Clint from the church

" I know what I need to do. The dining room! If I knock out that east wall, it'll make a nice work space for Laura, huh? Put up some baffling, she can't hear the kids running around, what do you think?" Clint asks as he drives in an abandoned car, heading to the hellicarrier

"You guys always eat in the kitchen anyway." Nat replies

"No one eats in a dining room. " I add in as we reach the lifeboats "We don't have a lot of time." I mutter

"So get your ass on a boat." Nat says and I do just that. I step onto the boat and i see a child crying and Clint seeing it too jumps from the boat and runs for the boy before I can go. Clint grabs the boy just as shooting occurs beside them, Clint covers the boy using his body preparing for impact Andy I run over to them. Before I can reach them however, Pietro intervenes and takes the shots to save them.

"You didn't see that coming" Pietro questions as he falls to the ground as he dies. I grab the boy from Clint and help him onto the boat. As the boy is reunited with his mum, I walk over to Clint who is lying across the seats
