Chapter 1

Sometimes things in life things don't always go as we plan but as my mum always said things happen for a reason even if you can't tell why. Which is why right now Tony and I are trying to make the Tower more sustainable by using an arc reactor and fingers crossed it will work.

"You're good on this end. The rest is up to you two" hear Tony say through the line as he flies out from the sea and back towards the tower

"You disconnected the transition lines? Are we off the grid?" I ask as I sit beside Pepper looking at the screens in front

"Stark Tower is about to become a beacon of self-sustaining clean energy." Tony replies to us

"Wow. So maybe our reactor takes over and it actually works?" Pepper questions with a laugh

"I assume. Light her up" Tony says and I tap the screen turning the power on to light up the place as I ask"How does it look?"

"Like Christmas, but with more...us." Tony replies making me and Pepper high five

"Gotta go wider on the public awareness campaign. You two both need to do some press. I can do some more tomorrow. I'm working on the zoning for the next billboards." Pepper tells us quickly going into 'boss mode' as Tony and I call it

"Pepper, you're killing me. Remember? Enjoy the moment." Tony reminds her as I see him land on deck outside

"get in here and I will." Pepper says making me actually want to throw up.

"You know I wanted you guys to get together but now it's just making me feel sick" I mutter to Pepper who laughs in response

"Don't worry Kat I'm sure you'll find somebody soon"Pepper says with a smile

"Doubt have you seen guys these days? They are all dickheads" I tell her with a smile causing her to roll her eyes at me

Tony soon removes all his suit and walks down to us as he tells Jarvis to ignore the incoming call from Coulson making me roll my eyes"Levels are holding steady... I think." Pepper says as Tony stands beside us to look at the screen

"Of course they are, I was directly involved. Which brings me to my next question: how does it feel to be a genius?" Tony asks Pepper completely ignoring me like hello it was my idea thank you very much.

"Well, ha, I really wouldn't know now, would I?" Pepper asks and I walk over to the couch and I notice I have a missed call from Natasha and I listen to the voicemail as I quickly rush up to my room.

I come back down to where the others are dragging my suitcase behind me and I walk over to Phil while Tony and Pepper are talking infront of the screen." Hey Phil. Nat called informed me of what happened and said you have jet for me" I say as I stand beside him

"That's correct it's waiting for. I'll drop you off then I have somewhere else to be before heading back" Phil informs me as Pepper comes over and we step inside the elevator as I quickly shout "Work hard" to Tony before the doors close.
