girl crush [ nine ]

it was almost five o'clock so i made my way out of the dorm towards the yg building with my skateboard. it was the first day of my new schedule, and i had no plans of being late anyway.

the sky still had a tinge of darkness, but i never thought much about it. i just realized that i was already in front of the building so i kicked my board up then carried it as i went inside.

i greeted the staff who were passing by, and they greeted me back. i was wondering if donghyuk was already inside the practice room so i went inside already to see him practicing alone.

"oh hey, i didn't know you'd get here earlier," i said, and he chuckled.

"you're two minutes late. i was right on time," he said, and i grimaced. oops.

"oh." i said, and he chuckled.

"yeah, oh," he said, making the both of us laugh.

he then restarted the song, and i watched as he tried experimenting with choreography. i chuckled when he almost tripped, causing him to chuckle and shake his head.

i then joined in on experimenting, and soon enough, we were in sync. we were laughing as we replayed the song and the choreo we managed to make, obviously having fun.

just when we were finished did donghyuk laugh and gave me a high five. i grinned, and then i was surprised when he pulled out the same face towel i gave him.

i thought he was gonna wipe his face, but then he held my wrists and held me in place. he started wiping my face, smiling. i was too dumbstruck to even speak.

"t-thanks," i said, and he smiled softly at me.

"anything for you," he replied, "shall we continue?"

i nodded, and then we repeated the same choreography again. there were some holes, but we can fix that later.

when the song ended, donghyuk sat down and then gestured to the spot next to him so i sat there. he then started speaking, so i listened in.

"so, in the start of the chorus, we have to think of something appealing enough for the fans to pay attention to," said donghyuk, and i nodded in understanding as i was drilling some possible moves inside my head.

"the concept. what did yang pd said again?" i asked, and he scratched the back of his neck sheepishly.

"o-oh. uh, uhm, sexy. yeah, sexy," he said, and i dropped my jaw.

"can you actually believe he let us do this? like, his two groups, collaborating with a song and concept like this? he really wants to gather all of the fans out there, right?" i said, half joking, making him chuckle.

"well, we are the icon and aces of korea, so..." he started, making the both of us laugh.

i then tapped my hand on the floor, a thought coming to my head.

"i have an idea," i said, and he paid more attention to me.

"what?" he asked, and i grinned.

i'm not sure if my unnies will approve of this, but, well, i wasn't the rebel daughter of the group for nothing. besides, it has to be fitting for the concept.

"there's that part where there's a sound of an incoming grenade, right? and then a loud boom?" i asked, and he nodded. "we'll do a body wave and then drop to the floor on our bums. guys are behind girls, and then arms are spread to the side. we can make hand dances, like that."

he seemed to blush that moment, but he cleared his throat.

"that's a good... idea. sexy concept, yeah. but the problem is that we have two other male members without a partner." he said, and i grinned.

"they'd be on the center." i said, and his face lit up.

"wait, junhoe and jinhwan sings the chorus, right? then aina sings the post chorus. so that's just about right," he said, grinning.

he then stood up, making me furrow my brows and look up at him. he then lend me his hand, and i tilted my head.

"what?" i asked, and he chuckled.

"let's practice the new version," he said, and i felt my cheeks heating up. that was embarrassing.

"right," i said, and he smiled.

i then stood up with his helping hand, and we started the song again. we did the same routine before the chorus, doing some hip rolls and some popping moves.

and then there came the chorus.

to say that i was flustered and embarrassed was an understatement, but i had a reputation of not being any of those so i acted like it wasn't awkward.

both donghyuk and i got surprised when we heard loud clapping and cheering from the door, seeing our group mates grinning as they watched us.

"oh god," i said, shaking my head.

they laughed, and i just looked at my wristwatch, seeing that it was almost 7 o'clock.

as tired as i am, i really need to go to my next schedule then. hanbin and i held eye contact, and he nodded his head.

i sighed, and then excused myself from them.

"don't overwork yourself too much! and the choreo is deadass great!" exclaimed jaemin, and all i did was laugh as i went away with hanbin to record the tracks.

at least seeing their reactions ease off some of the tiring feeling i feel.
