It was a blue pen.

Of course, without a doubt, this is Ara's.

Siya lang naman ang nakaupo dito kanina and she loves blue.

Of course he knows that... he even gave her gifts, and flowers... that were blue.

Chase cleared his mind.

You don't know the real Ara anymore, Chase.

He wasn't aware of what Ara could do, she could be heartless sometimes, trust him, he knows.

And with the thoughts clouding up his mind hinampas ni Chase ang manibela, this is so frustrating!

Chase was startled when his phone started to ring.

"Hello?"

"Sir Chase," bati sakanya ng boses ni Sunny.

"Yes?"

"Sir an invitation was sent to you,"

"From who?" tanong nito.

"From the Asuncions sir, it's a ball for a cause," sunny quickly informs him.

"When is it?"

"A week from now po,"

"Confirm my arrival," tipid na sinabi ni Chase bago patayin ang telepono.

Tinignan niya ulit ang nakahilatay na ballpen sa passenger's seat ng kanyang sasakyan, this would be a great timing.

He released a loud exhale. He needs to release some steam.

——

Ara was done changing when she heard her phone ring.

"Hello Jo?" she answered.

"Hello po Doc, nakalimutan ko pong sabihin sainyo na may natanggap akong email kanina,"

"Who is it from?"

"From Attorney Evangelina Asuncion, it's an invitation for your family to be exact po, it's a ball for a cause in a private island," her secretary explains.

"When is it?"

"A week from now po," sagot ni Jo.

"I'll ask dad and my sister before I confirm," ani Ara.

"Okay po Doc," sagot ni Jo.

Pinatay ni Ara ang tawag at tinawagan agad ang ama.

"Hi pa," she instantly greets when his dad answers.

"Hello Hija kamusta ang renovation?" tanong ng ama.

"It's going great, mabilis ang mga tauhan ni Chase," sagot nito.

"That's very good to hear, oh, napatawag ka nga pala?"

"Yeah, uhm Tita Eva invited us to a ball, are you going?" tanong nito sa ama.

"Oh right, your Tito Legion mentioned that to me not long ago," anang ama.

"So will you be there?" tanong nito sa ama.

"Of course darling, why?"

"Because I'll be your date papa, well, kami naman talaga ni Yra ang magagandang muses mo," she jokes and hears her father's chuckle.

"Alright then, but I think your sister can't attend, remember? She will not be here for more weeks,"

"Oh right, I'm just going to talk to her for a bit,"

"Alright dear," ang huling sinabi ng ama bago patayin ang telepono.

She calls her twin hoping she isn't in a meeting.

"Oh Ara you called?"

"The Asuncions invited us to a ball next week," she immediately informs her sister.

"Talaga? Sayang naman wala ako dyan," her sister said.

"I'm sure Zane's parents will be there, tanungin ko nalang siya kung pupunta siya, by the way, pupunta ba si papa?" dagdag ni Yra.

"Yep, pupunta kaming dalawa," sagot ni Ara.

"That's great, okay I have to go now, I gotta prepare," paalam ni Yra and Ara just nods.

She needs to rest, hindi sanay si Ara ng hindi nakakalanghap ng amoy ng hospital, it's very foreign to her indeed.

And she also decided to change her bag kaya inilabas niya lahat ng bagay na nasa loob ng bag niya kanina.

Teka, parang may kulang ata?

Ara stares at the scattered things from her bag.

Oh sht. Her pen!

She tries to recall where she has been— oh no.

She's certain na andun iyon kay Chase.

But it's 7pm, it'll be rude to interrupt Chase just to ask for her pen, tsaka for work purposes lang naman ang number nila sa isa't-isa.

She sighed and decided na bukas na iyon proproblemahin.
