chapter 26

IVY'S POV
*i run behind him as quiet as i can and walk upstairs with him. i lock my bedroom door and try to see who it is again by looking out my window. joey holds my hand and shuts the blinds. i look at him like he's crazy*

ivy- are you crazy?

joey- the police said we need to cover and lock everything. they are on their way.

*i nod and walk over to my bed. i sit down and wonder where joey's family went. i ask him and he shrugs. well shit. i hear the police pull up to my house and argue with the man. i look out my window and see them take off his mask. dad? i freeze up and keep watching. i feel joey wrap his arms around me but i don't move.*

joey- hey hey what's wrong?

ivy- my d-dad.

joey- i thought that he didn't know where you lived.

ivy- me too...

joey- do you think it's safe to stay here anymore?

ivy- i don't know. i don't want to leave but if he knows where i am then..

joey- we'll talk to my mom about it baby don't worry about it

ivy- i've caused so much drama for you and your family joey. i'm sorry.

joey- we'd do anything for you. it's okay

ivy- i guess..

*i wrap my arms around his torso, feeling his arms wrap around my head. i take a deep breath and close my eyes. my life has been so rough the past 4 months and i needed to change my life around. i look around my room and then at joey. he furrows his eyebrows and looks at me.*

joey- what are you thinking about?

ivy- i don't want to live here anymore

joey- are you sure about this?

ivy- i need to restart. not with you, but everything else. its been nothing but struggle the past few months and i want a fresh start.

*he smiles, causing me to smile big and kiss his soft lips. he kisses back and holds my waist. i pull away and look into his eyes. he looks into mine and i know i'm in love with him. i've known for awhile that i am but i fell harder than i thought.*

ivy- first stop, chick-fil-a!

joey- only if you can drive silly

ivy- an uber will come

*i giggle and walk into my closet. i pick out a black bikini and shut the door. i tell joey i'll be out in a few minutes and i change into my bathing suit then put clothes over. i walk out and jump on his back. he screams and i laugh harder than i have in a long time. he looks at me with a big smile on his face, making me smile big back.*

joey- i don't know if i have swim shorts

ivy- if you don't, we can stop at the store for some after we get food

JOEY'S POV
*the uber arrives to ivy's house and we get in the backseat. i intertwine our fingers and kiss her forehead. she smiles and lays her head on my shoulder while both look out the window. i rest my head on hers and rub her hand with my thumb. she holds our hands in her lap with her hand on top. we get to chick-fil-a and i pull out my wallet. i look up at see ivy paying. i give her a 'why'd you do that' look and she giggles. i get out of the car and wait for her. she steps out and kisses my cheek. i hold her hand again and we walk into chick-fil-a.*

ivy- i love you so much birlem

joey- i love you more ivy

*she blushes, crosses her arms, and turns away from me. i pout and wrap my arms around her from behind her in line. she doesn't move and i kiss her cheek a bunch. she giggles and turns towards me. i smile and kiss her softly. she kisses back and smiles into the kiss. after we order and find a table, we sit down and talk about things.*

ivy- you know what would be really fun?

joey- what baby?

ivy- getting a little puppy from the shelter

joey- awh that's so cute

ivy- almost as cute as you

joey- oh shh

ivy- i win but it would also need to be a boy because then i have two boys that are mine

joey- you're adorable i swear

*our food comes and we eat. i pay before ivy can and she giggles. i explain to her how it's fair and she somewhat agrees. i stand up and see her looking at someone. i look in the direction she's looking and see a table of girls looking over at us. i look at her and hold her hand.*

joey- is everything okay baby?

ivy- they're staring at you

joey- i'm all yours

ivy- yeah if only they got the hint

joey- they will in a few seconds

ivy- what do you mean?

*i cup her face and kiss her softly. not only because the random girls were looking but because i wanted a kiss. i pull away after a few seconds and she smiles big. i smile back and she stands up to hug me. i wrap my arms around her waist and hug back.*

joey- see, i'm only yours

ivy- promise baby?

joey- i promise my love

ivy- now let's go get you a swimsuit so we can swim at the beach

joey- bet

ivy- big bet

*we laugh and walk out of the restaurant. she stands in front of me and orders uber. i hold her and she leans against me. i kiss the top of her head and look at the sun starting to set. she watches then looks up at me.*

joey- what baby?

ivy- thank you

joey- for what?

ivy- everything

joey- you're always welcome my love

ivy- the adventures are just starting

*and with that, we got in the uber and headed to the store.*
