chapter 56

IVY'S POV
*thirty minutes after joey leaves for his game, i leave the house to pick up serena. we are going to the game together and the rest of his family is going together. i think sophia is meeting her friends there so she won't have to stay with her mom and bella. i text serena to let her know that i'm waiting for her outside and a few seconds after she read it, she was running to my car. i laugh and unlock the door for her to get in. once she's in, i start driving to school.*

serena- hi girly!

ivy- hey serena

serena- are you excited to watch joey play?

ivy- yes, very. i just don't want him to crack under pressure

serena- is he nervous?

ivy- yeah. it's his first game and he doesn't want to disappoint his family or me

serena- awh that's really cute though

ivy- i hope he relaxes after he warms up and thank you

*i giggle and hand her the aux while i come to a stop. she excitingly plugs in her phone and starts playing ransom. we sing the song as loud as we can and before we know it, we are at school. i park the car and get out, along with serena. i lock the car and walk over to the football field with her. we pay the three dollars to get in and walk to the student section. there was just enough room for the two of us and we squeeze into the front row.*

*15 minutes later*

announcer- are you guys ready?! here comes the north carolina eagles!

*everyone starts cheering and that's when i see joey, running out of the locker rooms next to his teammates. i smile big to myself and he runs over to me. i scrunch my eyebrows at him and he takes off his helmet, climbing up the front of the bleachers. he holds my face with his hand and kisses me in front of everyone. i kiss back and the crowd roars. i blush and look at him.*

ivy- go get em baby

joey- for you i will

ivy- and your family. now go

*he slides his helmet back on and runs out to the field. they do their chant and serena looks at me shocked.*

ivy- yes serena?

serena- i can't believe he just did that

ivy- me either but i'm glad that he doesn't care about what others think of us

serena- it's a good thing. i think you guys are each other's person

ivy- i know he's my person

*she smiles and hugs me tight as the game starts. i hug her back and look back at the field, seeing that we have the ball. joey passes the ball to his teammate and gets it back once he is close to the touchdown line. i scream for him and he catches the ball, making a touchdown.*

announcer- joey birlem with a touchdown!! the score is 7 to 0 ladies and gentlemen

JOEY'S POV
*as soon as i made the touchdown, i knew what i was doing. i knew that i loved being on the field and all the anxiety rushed from my body. i look at crowd to see everyone cheering. i look at ivy as the ball gets set up again and she stands there with a smile on her face. i smile to myself and get back in position.*
