chapter 58

IVY'S POV
*joey and i have been doing ap classes in order to graduate early and today is the day for our ap exams. i wake up to my alarm at 6:00am and rub my eyes since i'm not used to waking up this early. joey and i have to be at school by 7:15 to start testing and it ends at 10:30am. i take a quick shower so i don't smell and do my skincare routine. i put on black leggings and a blue hoodie before quickly straightening my hair and going to check on joey. i lightly knock on his door and he says "come in." i walk in and see him putting on a sweatshirt.*

ivy- good morning baby

joey- morning princess. how are you feeling about the testing?

ivy- i feel good about it. we've been working hard enough to do good on it. how are you feeling about it?

joey- i feel good about it too. ready to go eat breakfast? it's 6:45

ivy- yeah let's go. we have 15 minutes

*we walk downstairs and i start making avocado toast while he pours some cereal into a bowl. i sit down at the counter and start eating as i watch joey pour milk into his bowl. he sits down next to me a few seconds later and starts eating also. i finish eating around 6:55 and joey finishes soon after me. i kiss his cheek and grab the car keys before we both put our shoes on. we walk outside after saying goodbye to his family and get in the car. i start the engine and drive down the road. joey intertwines our fingers and i hold his hand in my lap.*

joey- i love you princess

ivy- i love you too baby

joey- i won't be able to talk to you for 3 hours

ivy- i'll be right next to you. don't worry about missing me love

joey- i'll just miss hearing your giggle and voice

ivy- i'll miss hearing your voice too baby

*i park in front of the school at 7:10am and we both get out, taking our backpacks with us. i intertwine our fingers again and we walk to the school gym. joey and i sit down at a table in the middle of the rest of the tables and get our supplies for the tests out.*

teacher- okay everyone. you have 1 minute until the test starts. if you don't have one in front of you, please raise your hand.

*i look around and see no one raise their hand so i focus my attention back on the teacher that was speaking.*

teacher- you have until 10:30 to finish all 3 tests. good luck. you may begin right now.

*i open the first packet that has math and science in it. i start flying through the math section that included 50 questions and finish that part within an hour. it was now 8:15 and i was starting on the science section of the packet. there was only 25 questions and i got through it in about 30 minutes.*

JOEY'S POV
*it was now 10:29am and we have 1 minute to finish the test. ivy puts her pencil down and i fill in the last circle just as the teacher says "pencils up." ivy and i both lift our pencils and the teachers come by and pick up all of our tests.*

teacher- you guys can leave now. scores should be up within 24 hours since 10 of us are grading them

*everyone nods and stands up. they start leaving and i stand up, waiting for ivy to finish packing her bag. she stands up with a smile on her face and intertwines our fingers. i hold her hand and we walk out of the gym, towards the car. i take the keys out of her other hand and get in the drivers seat. she gets in the passengers seat as i start the car ad we both buckle up before i back out of our parking spot.*

joey- do you want to go to an early lunch?

ivy- that sounds good baby. where would we go though?

joey- we could go to chick-fil-a and get it to go then drive to the beach to eat there. does that sound good?

ivy- that sounds amazing. let's do it baby

*i run my thumb across her knuckles as i drive and by the time we got to chick-fil-a, it was 11:00.*

joey- drive thru or go inside?

ivy- drive thru. i'm tired from testing

joey- you can take a nap. ill get your usual, yeah?

ivy- yes please. also thank you for paying baby

joey- it's not a problem love

*i pull into the drive thru and wait in the short line. i glance over at ivy to see her already asleep and i pull up to the speaker. i order ivy her chicken nugget meal and i order a spicy chicken sandwich for myself. i drive up to the window and pay as i receive the food.*

{ time skip: 1 hour later }

*we got to the beach and i park on the sand before shutting the car off. i look over at ivy and kiss her forehead softly. i whisper and gently tighten my grip on her hand.*

joey- wake up baby. we are at the beach

*she stirs in her sleep and sits up. i look at her as her eyes flutter open and she rubs her eyes. i smile big and kiss her cheek again.*

ivy- are we here?

joey- yeah. i put the bag of food by your feet after i got it

ivy- yes food time!

joey- i got you chicken nuggets, fries, and a sweet tea

ivy- thank you baby

joey- you're welcome princess

*she smiles, causing me to smile back and grabs the food from her feet. she hands me
my sandwich and fries before she takes out her meal and opens her chick-fil-a sauce.*

ivy- we should stay here for a couple hours and walk around. it would be nice

joey- we can do that. we do have a few days off due to testing

ivy- which means no homework! just a football game to go to on friday

joey- two more days until the third game

ivy- watching you play is my favorite. i just get really nervous

joey- awh love. why do you get nervous?

ivy- i've always gotten nervous watching a sport when someone i know is playing and i don't want you to get hurt

joey- you're adorable

ivy- thank youuu

joey- you're welcomeee

*she giggles and i finish my sandwich as i laugh along with her.*
