HE GETS INSECURE

YOUR POV

you arrived at colby's place, and you grabbed the to-go bag of tender greens as you used the spare key to unlock his apartment door. you set the bag on the counter, and put down your keys and small purse.

"colby? babe?" you called out, and soon enough you got a response.

"yea? i'm in here princess." you walked slowly to his bedroom, and saw him laying down on his computer watching kian and jc.

"i brought you some tender greens, love." you mentioned to him, and you saw his face light up as he walked out and opened the bag.

"i'm starving! you're literally the best." colby commented as he started to eat his food.

your phone lit up next to him, and he looked over to see a text from 'josh :).' all he did was look back at his food, knowing josh is your gay best friend, he wasn't worried.

"colbs, you wanna watch a movie with m-" you got cut off as all the lights went out. you sighed and shook your head.

"well now we can't, because we have a blackout." colby added and finished his food, slowly finding his way to the trashcan.

he walked over to you and sat down. he gripped your hands and pulled you onto his lap, staring into your eyes even though he couldn't see them very well.

"i love you colby.." you said as he smiled and cupped your cheek. you went to lean in, and you didn't notice as he hesitated, but soon leaned in as well.

you kissed him, right as his lips touched yours. you felt butterflies erupt in your stomach, as you smiled into the kiss.

he started to not be as into the kiss as you were, causing your smile to fall. you were just about to slip your tongue in his mouth, before he started to disconnect your lips.

COLBY POV

she's so perfect, i truly don't deserve her. why would she choose me over any other guy that she could have? why am i so special? all i do is exist and breathe, i'm nothing.

she could do so much better, yet she still stays with me. i'm holding her back, and i know it. she can seriously find the right guy if i just step out of the way.

she's the one for me but i know...without a doubt... i'm not the one for her. she doesn't show it, but i know for a fact if i let her go around for a week she'd find her perfect soulmate.

YOUR POV

"y/n...i-i'm sorry but i just can't.." he said and completely took his lips off of yours.

"what do you mean you can't colby?" you asked, your heart dropping. he shook his head and you felt his hands fall from your hips, down to the couch cushion.

"this... isn't right..." he added, just as the lights came back on. you furrowed your brows, looking at his side profile, stunned.

"what do you mean it isn't right? colby we've spent three years together, we-" he cut you clean off.

"yes but i'm holding you back, y/n!" he shouted, making you get off his lap. he took a deep breath, and a tear slid down his left cheek.

"i'm not the one made for you, y/n. i know you're the one for me, but i also know that if i step out of your way, you can find the perfect guy for you." you started to tear up, where was all of this suddenly coming from?

"colby what are you talking about? you're the one for me-!" he got up off the couch in a swift movement.

"no i'm not!! i know i'm not! out of all the guys in the world, who are better looking than me, have better compliments than me, have a better personality than me, you choose me! why?!" he started shouting a bit louder.

"because colby! i saw you from a mile away and i knew you were the perfect one for me!! colby i love you, and i wouldn't trade you for the world! colby i'm giving you everything, and i repeatedly tell you that i'm not attracted to anyone else but you and you still feel this way? babe don't put yourself down so much." you said, softening as you reached the end.

"but you could do so much better y/n! just let me get out of the way!" he said turning around and resting his hands on the counter with his head looking at his feet.

"hey hey...colby, look at me." you said turning him around, and you saw his tear stained cheeks. "colby i chose you because to me, i see every part of you as perfect and special! i gave you my virginity for a reason, and that reason is because you are better than anyone else in my eyes. i've stayed with you because i love you and want nobody else but you! i keep this promise ring on my finger, because i know, i KNOW that i want, that i NEED a future with you. where i'm your wife and you're my husband, and we have a little family together and we're just perfect. colbs you're perfect for me, we're perfect for each other! so please, don't put yourself down because nothing can change the way i feel about you, no matter how many fights we have, no matter how many times we kiss, or make out, or have sex, colby you're mine. and i'm yours. always and forever, okay?" he had tears down his cheeks as you finished, and all he could do was nod his head yes.

"god i love you, so much y/n. don't ever leave me baby, please! i beg you, i need you to survive, to breathe." he hugged you tight and you pecked his neck a few times.

"i won't ever leave you, colbs. no need to be insecure, you taught me how to stop bringing myself down, and that you only love me. and i know that i love you, i feel it in my veins. so don't be insecure, you're perfect to me." you smiled and you both shared a loving kiss, and that's how you knew you found your happily ever after.
