PRIDE PARADE

it was officially june. the month where you get to celebrate your sexuality amongst you, and the friend group you refer to as your family. it was your favorite month besides december, because of christmas of course.

you looked through your clothes as you tried to find the perfect outfit to go to the pride parade in. your boyfriend colby was taking you, and you were beyond ecstatic. it was your first parade that you're going to since you came out to your friends only a few months ago.

the most important person you were worried about was colby, however he seemed to show the most support out of everybody. of course your friends and family supported you as well, but he was the one to buy you everything pride related.

you have a pride flag on your wall next to your shared bed, and many different little knick knacks that were supportive of your sexuality and preferences. colby was already dressed, and you had finally picked out the outfit you'd been searching for.

colby's shirt was a rainbow vans t-shirt, and he had on some black jeans with some rainbow vans. he was also wearing a white bandana around his head. you put on your overalls that had a rainbow painted on them, your matching vans to his, and a white t-shirt underneath.

you braided your hair down the middle, and put rainbow stripes below your eyes. colby had a rainbow heart on his cheek. he smiled as he looked at you. "are you excited?" he asked you. "yes!! this is what i've wanted to do for years! and i finally get to!"

he smiled happily at your excitement. as this was all he's ever wanted for you, to be happy. ever since everyone was so accepting and supportive, you've been the happiest you've seen yourself.

you and colby arrived at the event not too long after an hour later. you looked around at all of it in awe. this is what you've dreamed it would be like. it was even better than what you've dreamed of.

you smiled at colby happily, and he winked at you. "take me wherever you wanna go. this is your day." you giggled softly and ran over to a tent that was selling small pride flags on sticks. you and colby both got one to wave in the air as you walked down the roads.

you spent the day eating a lot of food and trying new drinks, and screaming out lyrics as the music played all over the festival. you had temporary tattoos scattering your arms and legs, and colby had face paint on.

it was almost time to leave as you and colby walked hand in hand down the decorated street one last time. "thank you." you said. "for what?" "for taking me here. letting me experience this with you. this was incredible." you looked at him as you spoke.

"of course my love. you're so brave and you amaze me even more every single day. i love being able to celebrate this with you, and i can't wait to do it again next year." he was looking up at the sky as he spoke, slightly swinging your arms. he stopped you for a second and stared at you.

"i love you baby." you said to him. "i love you to the moon and back y/n." he leaned in slowly, kissing you deeply. your arms went around his neck and his hands held your hips. "c'mon, let's go watch a ton of lgbt+ movies and drink rainbow slushies."

you smiles widely as you clapped happily. you got on his back and he carried you back to the car. where you ended off your night back at your shared home and in your lover's arms, exactly where you're meant to be.
