HIGH SCHOOL SWEATHEART (p.3)

you heard footsteps walking up and a familiar voice, "....y/n.."

YOUR POV

you looked over and saw colby. you just scoffed and turned away as more tears fell. he sat next to you and  subtly touched your knee.

"y/n let me explain what you saw in there.." he said and your breathing was getting worse as you tried to calm down.

"autumn shoved herself onto me. she thought i had a thing for her, but i only saw her as a little sister. i guess when i looked at her she got the wrong signal and kissed me. that's when you turned around and saw us. it took me a second to process what was happening before i pushed her off. i'm sorry y/n, i didn't know she was into me. i never meant to hurt you." colby sighed and you looked over at him.

colby looked into your eyes before slowly leaning in. you met him in the middle and he kissed you back passionately.

once you both pulled away he rested his forehead against yours. "i love you y/n. i always will." you smiled as one last tear rolled down your cheek.

"i love you too colbs." he wiped away the tears and kissed you again softly. you heard someone clear their throat behind you.

you both pulled away and turned to look at who it was. it was autumn. she looked pretty upset, and not in the best way either.

"so.. you two are a thing?" she said, sadly but also in a pissed off tone of voice. you and colby looked at each other.

"yes, me and y/n have been dating for a year and a half now autumn." colby replied to her while looking up to meet her eyes. she just scoffed.

"look i don't mean to be rude but i really want you to be with me colby. you're the first guy who's respected me or made me feel good about myself." you just looked down sadly as colby noticed your mood.

"autumn that's sweet and all but... i love y/n, not you. i'm sorry if i confused you or gave you misunderstood signs but, i can't be with you. y/n is my girlfriend, and hopefully the only one i'll ever have to have again." colby said which made you look up at him. you smiled at him.

"but colby i.... i have nobody! you're the only one i want or love! please just give me a chance-" colby cut autumn off as he started to get a little irritated.

"autumn! i said no! y/n is my girlfriend and she will be mine for the rest of my life. i'm not giving up the love of my life for you. i'm sorry if that offends you but you need to leave us alone." you gripped onto colby as autumn stormed away in tears.

"you see me in your future?" you asked as you looked into colby's eyes. he nodded, "of course i do. i want to love you forever."

you smiled and kissed him again, wrapping your arms around his neck. colby held your waist as he kissed back.

"wanna ditch the rest of the day and go to my house?" he asked you once you pulled away. you smiled and nodded your head.

you guys walked hand-in-hand out of the school gates and to colby's house. once arrived you guys turned on disney movies and cuddled while eating cheeto puffs.

~time skip~

colby fell asleep a little while ago with you in his arms. but you can't sleep. you can't stop thinking about what he said.

thoughts flooded your mind so much that tears actually started to flow from your eyes. soon enough, you were sobbing. and you accidentally woke up colby in the process.

"y/n... why are you crying?" colby said in a tired and raspy voice. you just wiped your tears away but it didn't do much as you couldn't stop crying.

"i-i just... i was thinking about h-how you said you wanted to be together f-forever.." he nodded, paying attention as you spoke.

"i w-want that too but what h-happens when you f-find someone better than m-m-me...or when w-we go our separate ways a-after g-g-graduation.." you started to get worked up again as you cried harder.

colby's arm tightened around you as he pulled you into his chest. "shh baby... don't worry about me finding anybody else because you're the one i want. and the only one i want. there's nothing to worry about in that field. as for after graduation.. what do you want to do when we're done with high school?" you thought for a moment, until you thought of the perfect idea.

"i want to get a degree in performing arts. mainly in the singing and dancing area. i just have a passion for that and i want to make a change by getting more people interested in this, but mainly in dance. i want to make people feel like anything's possible, and i want to pursue my happiness and passion for the people that might not be able to pursue their dreams." colby smiled hearing your response.

you have such a big heart and all you want is to make people happy. even if you're annoying them in a way. colby sat there, taking in what you said until he got an idea.

"why don't me and you go out to LA together. you can take an online course in performing arts while i pursue youtube. and then you can earn enough money to open your own theatre center right there in LA. that way we don't have to worry about when we get to see each other because we'll be together most of the time. and i can even help you run the studio as a part-time job when i'm done uploading for the week." you pondered it for a second.

that might be a great idea. you smiled at the thought of always being with colby. you wouldn't have to worry if he was busy so you could see him, or worry about if he's awake so you can facetime.

"that sounds amazing bubba. it's definitely a plan." you smiled up at him as he smiled down at you. he planted a kiss on your lips as you snuggled into his side, falling asleep soon.
