HIGH SCHOOL SWEATHEART (p.2)

colby tugged at the end of your shirt, slowly pulling it over your head.....

YOUR POV

you didn't understand this feeling of bliss, or how much love you had for him. but you did understand one thing, you weren't ready for this. you don't want him to see you, for you're afraid he'll run off.

"c-colby i.." you said as you pulled away, quickly slipping your shirt back on before he could get a look of who you are. you sighed and looked down.

"i'm not ready for this..." you said as you looked into his blue eyes. he softly smiled at you and caressed your cheek, as you leaned into his palm.

"it's okay baby, we don't have to. i love you, and whenever you are ready just know i'll be there for you. alright?" he said and you smiled while nodding your head yes.

"i love you too." you replied and leaned into him, resting your head in the crook of his neck. colby wrapped an arm around you and held you close.

"what movie do you want to watch?" he asked you as he grabbed his laptop. you thought for a second before saying, "how the grinch stole christmas?"

you looked up at him with hope in your eyes and a smile. he chuckled, "you got it cutie." you smiled wider and he kissed your temple before starting the movie and turning out the lights.

you and colby watched the movie peacefully. you loved him and he loved you, that's all you cared about. you both were happy, in each other's arms.

~the next week~

you walked into the school corridors. colby didn't pick you up today, which was weird because he always does.

it's a monday, the worst day of the week. you went to your locker and grabbed your binder and book as you headed to biology. you were halfway there when you looked up, seeing colby talking and laughing with the new girl, autumn.

your heart sank, and it never does that when colby's around his friends. you took out your phone and went into the bathroom. you plugged in your earbuds and called sam on facetime.

"hey y/n/n!" his cheerful voice said through the other side of the phone.

"hey, i know you're on vacation with your family but i needed to talk to you." you noticed sam furrow his eyebrows and you just sighed.

"i saw colby talking to autumn. and he looked pretty happy. do you know anything about it?" you continued, as sam just thought for a second.

"she's in our band class, and we pass by her locker everyday to get to PE but that's about it. at least, that's my situation with her. last time i checked she started talking to colby a lot in band, and i don't know what their conversations are about. i wouldn't worry about it y/n, colby loves you. i know he does." sam's reassurance made you feel really good about yourself. you smiled.

"there's that smile." sam commented and you giggled. "thanks sammy, i really needed that." sam just smiled at you and then you hung up after saying your goodbyes.

you were gathering everything up when autumn walks into the bathroom. she pulls out her mascara and fixes up her lashes a little bit before you greeted her.

"hey autumn, anything new with you?" she closed her mascara and turned around to face you with a smile. "not much, except for the fact that me and colby have gotten fairly close. he's super cute, don't you think?" she asked you with her usual perky voice and attitude.

oh right, she doesn't know you and colby are dating. you both keep it on the down-low most days and the people who know have been coming to the school for a while now.

"yea, he's such a babe." you replied with a little smile on your face as you thought about him. she just giggled and nodded, "i know right! ugh, he's so kind as well! and i think he might be into me."

that stopped your heart for a split second. your face went pale, but unnoticed. she just continued on her little vent and then went off the class. you just shook it off and rushed to biology, sitting next to colby.

"hi babe, i didn't see you this morning. are you okay?" colby said as he softly took your hand, running his thumb over your small knuckles.

"yea, i just woke up late." you lied and smiled over at him. "why didn't you pick me up this morning?" you asked him and he sighed.

"i'm sorry about that princess. my dad had to talk to me about how he needed me immediately after school. so i was rushed to school because i was almost late." you nodded, believing him. his dad often needed him for tasks when he was home, so it's understandable.

soon enough it was lunch time. you put your things away in your locker and headed to the line to get your food. once you received a full tray of lunch, you turned around.

colby was kissing autumn. she was all pressed against him while he had his hands on either of her sides. your heart broke and tears fell out of your eyes.

you dropped your tray on the ground and ran out, not caring who all was staring at you. you ran behind the school and went under the tree where you, sam and colby always would go when one of you were having a bad day.

you sobbed as the pain kept increasing in your chest. it was getting harder to breathe the more you cried. you had your head in your knees as you cried. you couldn't believe he would do this to you.

you heard footsteps walking up and a familiar voice, "....y/n.."
