YOUR POV
colby had his head in his hands, as you stood in front of him. tears in your eyes, and tears down his face. "it's not true," you said, sniffling as you continued. "tell me i've been lied to." colby just looked at you, and his eyes were red.
"crying isn't like you." you added, and he just shook his head. his lip quivered, the more it messed with his head. the guilt hit him hard. "i'm sorry, y/n. i am." you shook your head at his response.
"what the hell did i do?" you said, voice cracking. he got up to his feet, and tried to grab your hands. you backed away slightly, and his face saddened even more. "you know me. i've never been the type to let someone see right through."
those words hit him, and he let out a soft sob. tears raced down his face, they looked like mini waterfalls. "i hate myself for it, y/n. i really do. god, can you forgive me?" his voice had desperation in it, and his eyes said it all. he wanted you, he needed you.
"maybe... won't you take it back?" you let more tears fall. "say you were trying to make me laugh? nothing has to change today. you didn't mean to say i love you." he started sobbing once again, this pain in his heart was consuming him.
"i love you, colby. and i don't want to." colby looked up at you. you nodded, and he quirked a smile. he walked over, and attached his lips to yours. you kissed back, and forgiving him for the first time ever.

it was yet another night where you and colby had a fight. it was getting to the point where the relationship felt toxic. he had his arms around you as you looked at the tv that was playing.
you both had been crying your eyes out. "up all night, on another red-eye. we wish we never learned to fly." you said, matter-of-factly. he just looked at you, and kissed your temple. "i'm sorry, babe. i truly am. i can't stress it enough."
"maybe we should just try to tell ourselves a good lie." you suggested, and colby just shrugged. "i didn't mean to make you cry." he said again, and you just repeated the same damn phrase. it annoyed colby, but he knew it was true.
"maybe, won't you take it back? say you were trying to make me laugh. and nothing has to change today. you didn't mean to say i love you." he just pulled you closer, and whispered into your ear, "i love you. and i don't want to."
you smiled, and snuggled into his chest. finally being able to sleep after sharing a nice, loving kiss. he closed his eyes, feeling content to have you in his arms. and being happy that you won't give up on him, on the relationship.

you and colby had traveled to new york for your honeymoon. he finally asked the question six months ago, and here you are now. you looked down at the ring and smiled full heartedly.
"what are you wearing?" colby asked you, admiring you while holding you in his arms as you sat between his legs. "the smile that you gave me. even when you felt like dying." he smiled and you connected each other's lips.
the kiss was sweet, and you felt the love for him rush through your veins. he smiled wider as you both pulled away, tugging you closer into his arms. your back was against his chest, and his arms were firmly around your waist as you looked at the moon, the fairy lights illuminating the place.
"we fall apart as it gets dark. i'm in your arms in central park. there's nothing you could say or do, i can't escape the way i love you. i don't want to, but i love you." you said, and colby smiled.
you and him were trying, but you believe you've found your happily ever after. you don't want this to end, and neither does he. he's your beast to your beauty, and nothing could change that. he whispered in your ear, one last time, "i love you."
