YOUR POV
you looked in the mirror as the tears brimmed your eyes. you slightly sniffed as you examined your chin, cheeks, nose and forehead. they were completely covered in blackheads, whiteheads, and to top it all off the areas were entirely red and irritated.
you cried harder at the pain of them as you tried to pop one of them. you pulled your hand away quickly and wiped your nose, only for it to start running again as you felt more ashamed of your complexion by the second.
you had it on your shoulders, and down your back too, but your face was definitely the worst part of it all. you wished you had clear skin, or at least no redness around the bacterial areas. you have a boyfriend, and his name is colby. yes, colby brock, the one you're thinking of.
recently you haven't been hanging out with him or making plans, because you feel like if you go outside that's all people will see of you. after all, you can hardly see past it. it makes you so insecure to the point that it's tearing you apart inside and making your anxiety issues worse.
colby has tried to facetime you, but you'd only say yes to an audio call. this has only been happening the past two weeks, when you noticed the first breakout you were coming home from the store. you didn't think anything of it, until you woke up the next morning with severe acne. over these past two weeks it's only been getting worse for you.
you fear that if colby sees what's happened, he won't be attracted to you anymore. after all, he always said how much he loves your soft skin. he told you it felt as though he was rubbing his fingers against a baby's arm it was that soft to him. the more the thoughts get to you, the harder your cries become.
you didn't hear the door open because you were trapped in your own mind while your eyes poured water out as if they were faucets that were broken and couldn't be turned off. colby stood in the doorway of your bedroom, feeling his heart clench at the sight of you crying so hard.
you were looking at the floor, so he couldn't see your face at all. not even an inch was showing, until he leaned against the frame of the door, causing the floor to creek. you looked up, and your eyes almost popped out of your skull. you grabbed a hoodie and scrambled to put it on and as soon as you did you pulled the hood together.
you kept your gaze away from him, once again fearing even worse now that he would think you're ugly. colby walked towards you, with sympathetic eyes as he slowly lifted your head via your clothed chin. your eyes were glossed over and bloodshot, causing his eyes to sadden at the look of them.
"y/n, take the hood off, please. talk to me, i want to know what's got you so upset lately." colby's voice was soft, and patient. it was as though he spoke any louder you'd break into a million pieces. you shook your head as a tear formed its way to the corner of your eye. "hey, don't cry. just tell me what's wrong." colby soothed as he swiped the tear away.
he reached for the hood, about to pry it open before you jerked onto the back wall. you looked at him, terrified of him seeing your state, but he gently grabbed your wrists and pried them off of the drawstrings. the hood loosened, and he took it off your face. he studied you, and smiled to himself at the girl in front of him.
"p-please don't leave me for it..." you whimpered to him, and he furrowed his brows. "doll, just because you get a breakout doesn't mean i love you any less. you're still as beautiful as ever, the acne just shows a flaw that makes you, you. trust me, i would never leave you for anything like this, so don't worry over it. i love your flaws, and the acne is cute y/n." you looked into his eyes willingly for the first time since he had arrived.
"i-it's really not." you said, but colby shook his head. "it's adorable on you." you smiled to yourself, causing him to smile as well. you winced though, feeling slight pain as the irritated whiteheads around your mouth area stretched. "does it hurt?" colby asked, gently grazing his thumb over some of them as you nodded a little, the tears returning once again.
"love, please don't cry. i know it's making you insecure and that it's hurting you inside and out. but i love you for you, it's no big deal if you have a small breakout or a big one, it all suits you. why? because you're my babygirl and you mature faster than others. that's why you've got acne, it's just your hormonal levels rising." you nodded, and hugged him tight.
he embraced you, and you took in his smell. you smiled and felt a tap on your head, soon realizing he placed a kiss upon it. you looked up at him as he looked down at you, his eyes tracing every inch of your face. "so beautiful.." he whispered before leaning in and placing his flawless lips upon your gorgeous cherry ones.
you pulled him closer in desperation as you haven't seen him in what feels like ages. colby's arms found their way to your waist, tugging you closer to his figure as he lightly nibbled your bottom lip, asking for permission. you opened your mouth, and let his tongue gently move in sync with yours. your hands flew around his neck as the kiss got more passionate.
colby was always soft with you, and it touched your heart. his tongue danced with yours, as it explored your mouth excitedly. you knew he missed you, as he showed it through his actions. actions always spoke more than words to you, and vise versa. colby pulled away, and looked into your eyes once more before kissing all of the irritated spots.
"come on baby, let's go get you some acne cream from the dermatologist." you smiled at his lovingness towards you as he gripped your hand. you followed him as he dragged you out the door, and into his car. he bought you the treatment, even though you insisted, and ever since your breakouts have been prevented. it's changed your life for the better, and you couldn't be more thankful for a boyfriend like colby.
