"you're kidding me right?" he asked you as you had tears down your face.

"no i'm not kidding you." you replied as you were trying to tough this situation out.

"right before graduation?" you couldn't believe this kid right now.

"yes luke! you cheated on me and expect me to stay?!" he just nodded at you a yes and that's when you just scoffed and walked out.

you called colby on the way home. a few rings passed before he picked up. "hello?" was what you heard from the other side of the line.

"c-colby?" you asked shakily into the phone. his voice changed instantly as he heard the brokenness in your voice.

"y/n? what happened? what's wrong?" he hurried out his words as he was shuffling in the house looking for his keys.

"h-he cheated colby...h-he never l-loved me.." he huffed as you spoke, and you could feel the anger rising. but he tried his best to stay calm for you.

"okay y/n/n...where are you baby? tell me where you are and i'll come get you." you sniffed as you were on the verge of breaking down.

"2100 main street avenue." you spoke clearer than you thought you ever could. "p-please hurry c-colbs i'm alone..." he took a seat in his car and fastened the seatbelt as he put the phone to his ear, holding it up with his shoulder.

"okay baby i'll be there in five. don't worry, you can stay with me and i'll take care of you." you breathed a sigh of relief as you heard him speak.

"t-thank you colby.."

colby stepped out of the car to reach you. you got up from the bench and he stretched his arms out as he walked towards you.

you hugged him tight and cried hard into his chest as the rain kept pouring down. you were soaked and cold, however colby was warm and dry.

"come on, let's go grab your things and get you out of here." you nodded as colby let out of the tight hug.

he grabbed your hand and walked up to your ex's apartment with you. you handed colby the spare key as he unlocked it.

you heard shuffling in another room as you and colby entered the living room. colby went upstairs to the place where your bed and wardrobe was located. there came out the one person you never wanted to see again.

colby started to pack everything in the biggest suitcase he could find. he was trying to be as fast as he could so you both could get out of there.

"y/n! babe i knew you would come back. look i am so so sorry i-" luke got cut off abruptly by the familiar voice you've come to love.

"she's not here for you." you and luke both snapped your head in the direction of the voice. "y/n come here." colby reached his arm out and wrapped an arm around your waist as you melted into his side.

"colby brock. what the hell are you doing here? more importantly why do you have your arm around my woman." you just put your face in colby's chest as luke called you his. it made you feel like property when he said it.

"first of all, she's not your woman, and she never was. second of all, i'm here to grab her stuff so she never has to see you again." colby squeezed your waist as he felt you starting to get shaky.

"who the fuck do you think you are?" luke started to yell and it caused you to jump. colby looked down at you for a split second.

"well i think i'm the man that has to take a girl from another boy because he feels that he needs to cheat on her to feel like a man. you aren't a man luke, you're a boy. you never deserved her, so i'm getting her the hell away from you." luke started to step closer and that made your tears fall suddenly. you knew how bad luke could get, and you certainly didn't want to see what he would do to colby.

colby leaned down to your ear and whispered to you, "go over there y/n, i'll handle this." you looked up at him with tears down your cheeks and tears in your eyes. "trust me baby, i'll be fine." you nodded and grabbed the suitcase and walked over to the kitchen area.

luke swung at colby but colby just stopped him by grabbing his hand. you surely hid your eyes as you didn't want to witness a fight right now.

"go home dude. you know you'll never deserve y/n." luke's voice was stern and booming. your tears started to fall faster.

"i deserve her a lot more than you do." colby's voice was softer yet protective. you looked up and saw colby looking between you and luke.

"i love everything about her. and i'm not a guy who says that lightly. i'm a guy who hasn't had true love all his life. i thought love was just something idiots thought they felt. but this woman has had a hold on my heart that i could not break if i wanted to." you slowly calmed down as colby's eyes met with yours, and you saw his eyes sparkle as he admired you as he spoke.

colby looked back at luke but luke had the same angered expression on his face. luke wasn't buying any of this and was still being the stuck-up bastard he usually is.

"and believe me there have been times where i've wanted to. it has been overwhelming, and humbling, and even painful at times.. but i could not stop loving her anymore than i could stop breathing. i am hopelessly, irretrievably in love with her."

by the time he finished you were already back on your feet and stepped out of the corner you were previously curled up in. you had happy tears down your face as you felt your heart pounding in your chest.

"c-colby i...." you looked over at luke and then back to colby. "i love you too..." colby's eyes lit up and he grabbed your hands.

"i never loved you.." you stared at luke in lividness. "how could i ever love a bastard like you? i never should've chose you, i should've chose colby. if i would've chosen colby i wouldn't have to go through the feeling of being cheated on-" colby cut you off.

"hey, don't worry about luke. i will never, ever hurt you. come on baby, let's leave this apartment complex and this lonely, asshole who will never be a man, here and go to my place...." he leaned closer to you and whispered in your ear so it was inaudible to luke, "i have a surprise for you in the bedroom when we get there..." he squeezed your hips and it caused you to blush and grab his hand as he walked out with you and your clothes, never to see luke again.
