Atleast that's what Bailey always thought until it happened to her

While Michael and Bailey were talking about the restaurant and what Bailey's 'tasks' would be if she's at the restaurant when Michael's not there, they were interuppted by the door being opened and Veronica stepping in, not looking too happy, almost sad

"I thought you had an important appointment and took the rest of the night off?" Michael asked raising his brow at her
"I was....Yes tha- that was the plan" Veronica replied, her voice about to crack by the emotions she tried to hide
"Oh my god be nice to her" Bailey playfully rolled her eyes at Michael and turned to Veronica "He's actually nice when he's not in his big bad boss mood" she told her, thinking that was the reason Veronica almost was about to cry
"I- I k-know" Veronica swallowed some tears "I....I came back here because......" She continued trying to control her emotions and took a deep breath
"Are you ok?" Bailey asked, seeing she was about to burst out in tears any minute now
"Ye- No" Veronica sniffed and quickly wiped her tears
"I'm I really that mean? You want to quit?" Michael asked her, thinking maybe he was too mean to her
"No" Veronica sniffed "My b-b-b-boyfriend since high sch-- sc--school just du-dumped me bec--cause he got anot-her girl pr-preg-nant" Veronica burst out crying
"Oh No, sweetie he's a fucking jerk ok?" Bailey told her and wrapped her arms around her to comfort her, she figured Veronica could use a hug "I'm Bailey by the way" she told her
"Veronica" Veronica sniffed wiping her tears again
"Um...do you want a few days off?" Michael asked
"No...uh I just came over to ask if it was ok if I was a little later tommorow because I'm staying at a hotel now and I need to take care of a few other things concerning my breakup situation" Veronica mentioned taking a few deep breaths to calm down
"Of course, take the day off tommorow it's ok" Bailey told her
"Really?" Veronica asked looking at Michael since he's her boss, he hired her and she doesn't know who Bailey is, maybe she's his girlfriend and automatically thinks she's the boss she wondered
"Yes it's ok, Bailey she's the late owner's wife" Michael told Veronica, guessing she probably had no idea who Bailey is
"Oh...I'm Sorry for the loss" Veronica apologized
"Thank you....I'm coping so far, you'll probably see me around more often now, I'm going to be helping out here" Bailey told her
"I promise I'd make it up, I'll make up for my absent hours today too" Veronica promised
"Sure" Michael nodded
"What Michael meant was, no you don't have to, from what I hear you're a hard-working person, never miss a day, you're always on time and you're not complaining to close late at night and to open in the morning, so today's half a day off and tommorow it's ok, you don't have to make up for those hours" Bailey told her, having Veronica shocked at her response and Michael raise his brow as well at her (Bailey)
"I'll stop by when I'm done though, I still need to discuss and could use some help for the Christmas dinner this year" Veronica mentioned
"Yeah, lunch time?" Michael asked her
"Yeah I should be done with everything I need to do to be officially broken up then" Veronica mentioned and sighed sadly
"You know.....if you need help...." Michael replied, truly feeling sorry for her, seeing her so sad it did something to him, maybe because he was sort of in her situation once or maybe it was because he generally can't help it but to feel sorry for a person, specially a woman or child when they're sad
"Thank you" Veronica replied

"She's nice, why did you describe her as annoying?" Bailey asked Michael once Veronica left
"I don't know, those neon pink nails tho" Michael answered shrugging his shoulders
"And you wonder why you're single? You won't date someone for their nail polish" Bailey shook her head
"Not true! I just had some bad expierences with blonde women" Michael replied
"So you judge all of them for that?" Bailey asked
"No I don't know, Maybe? But I'll be nicer to her to her from now on" Michael told her
"Oh by the way where's Desmond? He doesn't know I'm going to be here a lot now" Bailey asked
"He's scheduled for tomorrow" Michael answered handing Bailey the work shedule of the employees
"He'll probably ask if the editor's company fired me so he can tell my parents who then would call me to say I should find a real job" Bailey rolled her eyes
"Desmond doesn't know you're Miss BC Thriller?" Michael asked surprised
"Nope, only you, Matthew, my publisher and I know who I am" Bailey replied
"And everyone else thinks you work at an editor's office?" Michael asked
"Yup, although Desmond once asked why I have all of BC Thriller's books but Matthew told him he likes her books, which is funny since he didn't read the final version, only a chapter here or there before I'd send it to the publisher" Bailey replied
"Trust me I tried to convince him to read your books" Michael smiled
"I know" Bailey smiled "I'm lucky to be friends with my number one fan" she smirked
"Well I'm even luckier to be friends with my number one favourite author" Michael told her
"And I love your albums as much as you love my books" Bailey confessed
"I'll make sure to give you a signed copy of my next album when it's out" Michael promised her
"And I'll make sure I get you a signed copy of my next book when it's out" Bailey promised him
