The next day, January 16 1992, 8 AM, Clarke's kitchen,
The entire staff arrived in the dining room and sat at the tables while they waited for Veronica to tell them why she wanted all of them to be there
"Do you think Veronica is quitting?"
"Nah she probably goes on her maternity leave thing, she's like six months pregnant right?"
"But she could quit when the baby is born in May?"
"I hope not, she is always there for us"
"I do hope she quits she's too bossy sometimes, I don't know how Michael does it, staying with her twenty four seven"
"I don't think she gets to boss him around"
"No I'm not quitting or start my maternity leave today, but thank you for hoping I'd quit or go on my maternity leave and thinking I'm bothering or bossing around my fiance" Veronica interuppted the gossiping employees who didn't expect her to hear them "I asked you all to come in early because some of you might know Matthew and others have heard of him" she continued
"Are you renaming the restaurant? That's like so disrespec-" 'One of the waitresses began and quickly shut up when Veronica raised her brow at her
"As I was saying, some of you may know Matthew, others don't but have heard of Matthew" Veronica continued
"For those of you who don't know him he was the owner and a super nice guy" The loud waitress from before interrupted Veronica again
"I know, he was my sister's husband" Desmond added
"Why do I bother trying to get her to listen" Veronica sighed
"Kelly never listened to me either" Matthew told her and stepped into the room, having everyone who knew him gasp and the others were quiet too, they recognized him from the pictures on the wall behind the bar
"But you were dead" Kelly gasped
"Yes what the hell" Desmond frowned
"Actually there was a big medical misser or blunder or mistake or however you want to call it, I was in a coma until recently and the real person who died was a homeless man with no family" Matthew explained
"And you knew that?" Desmond asked Veronica
"No, why would I know that?" Veronica asked
"Because you liked your life as general manager and Michael's babymama" Kelly scoffed
"You know what Kelly, you're fired" Veronica told her
"You can't fire me, your job is bacially unnecessary now since Matty is back" Kelly smirked
"Actually no, Veronica will stay General manager with the authority to fire and hire people, I'll mainly do the bar and help in the kitchen or check on the guests" Matthew explained "The people with the authority to fire people here are Veronica, Michael, Desmond and myself, Veronica will do the hiring too" He added
