Meanwhile,
"Three missed calls?" Bailey wondered staring at her phone while she parked her temporary rental car at home when she came back from having dinner at her parents house with her younger brother Desmond "2:55 AM, should I call back?" she thought and decided to call Michael back
"Where were you? I called you like three times" Michael began when he picked up after the second ring
"I was in Bakersfield, having dinner with my parents and Desmond, but what happend? another ant problem? What else is this important at two nearly three in the morning?" Bailey replied
"I'm at the hospital with Veronica, the restaurant got robbed and she was the only one there, they or he or she stabbed her and she was bleeding heavily when I found her" Michael explained
"Shit, What?! Oh my god is she alive?" Bailey gasped
"Yes she's alive, they just brought her to a private room and the doctor told me she survived it" Michael answered "But how is it possible Veronica was alone to close? There need to be two people to close at all times, to prevent things that happened tonight from happening" he continued
"I left at 2PM to a meeting with my publisher and then I went to my parents, the staff knew I left at two pm and they also knew one of them needed to stay behind and wait till Veronica closed the restaurant before they could leave" Bailey explained
"But obviously that didn't happen, otherwise this would not have happened, I'll close the restaurant the rest of the week while the police also does their investigation and will look at the CCTV footage" Michael mentioned "Also someone needs to fill in for Veronica she won't be able to work for a while, or if at all, since I can't blame her if she no longer wants to work at the restaurant after this traumatic experience" he added
"I will take over Veronica's tasks and everything and to make sure there will always be someone with me to close the restaurant at night, I'll ask Desmond to work the late shifts and to wait to go home till I locked the doors" Bailey suggested
"Shit I didn't call Veronica's parents" Michael realized "I don't have their contact information either, it's at the restaurant at the employee files, also Veronica's phone is still at the retaurant too I think" he added
"I'll go over there now, to see if the police found it and to ask if they could give me Veronica's employee file" Bailey answered
"Ok, keep me updated ok?" Michael replied
"I will" Bailey promised
Once they hung up Bailey made her way to the restaurant while Michael sat down next to Veronica's bedside
"It's my fault, I should've made sure I was back in time to help you close" Michael sighed, looking at the monitors next to the bed, feeling guilty about not being there to help her close the restaurant

Several hours later,
The sun was rising and the light peeking trough the window woke Michael up who realized he fell asleep in the chair next to Veronica's hospital bed
"Did I really stay all night?" Michael wondered
His thoughts got interrupted by Veronica who woke up
"How did I get here?" Veronica asked, her voice hoarse and her side hurting, not as much as before, more like a nagging pain at the moment
"Do you remember you called me?" Michael asked
