Two weeks later, October 6 th 1991,
Veronica decided to go back to work now she has her morning sickness sort of under control for as far as one could have morning sickness under control
Michael decided to devide his time between the studio and the the restaurant to make sure Veronica doesn't do too much or stays too long and of course to be with her, the mother of his child and hopefully future children
His album was practically done recording wise
Bailey was at restaurant the past two weeks, filling in for Veronica now she finished her book and she needed to talk to her too about the restaurant and also about why Veronica didn't let her know she's dating Michael
"Hey, your flue gone?" Desmond asked smiling at Veronica when he saw her step into the restaurant just before the lunch hour would begin
"Yeah... Sort of, did you fill in for me when I was sick?" Veronica asked him
"No, Bailey was in charge, since she is supposed to be the owner you know" Desmond replied
"Supposed to be, what do you mean?" Veronica frowned, for as far as she knows Bailey's late husband Matthew was in the restaurant bussines and shared the ownership with Michael who invested in Clarke's kitchen while Bailey has her own career as mystery bestselling author Miss B.C.Thriller
"You seen the paperwork right?" Bailey mentioned making her way towards the bar area too
"Administration is part of my job, so yes I'm aware of the financial situation and I always make sure you've your late husband's share on your bank account the same time the other employees get their salary and per Michael's decision his share goes to the various charities every month, so what's your question? " Veronica replied, wondering why Bailey was glaring at her
"So you do know I've the right to be general manager here, which kinda makes you superfluous, so even though I can't fire you since I don't have the most shares you're not really needed anymore" Bailey mentioned
"No offense, but do you know anything about the restaurant bussines? Salary administration, dealing with guests, staff and the different companies we deal with regarding orders for the different sections?" Veronica asked her
"Fine, you're the administrative assistant from now on, you'll work nine to five and if I need an extra waitress you'll be the first I call, deal?" Bailey suggested
"Are you serious?" Veronica asked raising her brow at her
"Yes, oh by the way you didn't show up at nine so today you'll loose half a day of payment, make sure you don't over pay yourself now you're the administrator instead of general manager" Bailey told her before she left, welcoming the guests that arrived for lunch hour
"What the fuck was that?" Veronica wondered out loud
"Oh, here's the order for the bar" Desmond mentioned handing Veronica a list with orders "You can still use your desk at the office" he added
"I was going to use my desk anyway, she can't degrade me to a simple administrator position, I'm the general manager for crying out loud" Veronica replied before she made her way to the office area
---- later that day,
Veronica was making her rounds to check up on the regular guests that had dinner or a drink at the bar, they all missed her when she wasn't there and were glad to see her back at the restaurant
"The fuck she still doing here? Her working hours ended like two hours ago" Bailey scoffed watching Veronica chatting with some guests at their table while she had dinner at the bar with Desmond who was on his break, having one of the waitresses filling in for him behind the bar
