A/N Ha can't relate.

"Haechan!"

Rigid, Haechan kept his head focused on the pile of text books in front of him. In the space of a week, he had survived on 14 hours of sleep in total and drank through 140 cups of coffee. He could feel the studying actually working and he remembered things a whole lot quicker.

However, his room was a sty: dirty paper plates were stacked on top of each other; clothes on the floor which hadn't been vacuumed in a month and flies started making their way into the room from the open window. Because of this, Haechan shut the window and placed any mess he could find by the door.

As for the voice outside his room, Renjun had gotten the same message as Haechan except it was shorter. For the last week, he had gotten up early just to try and get him out of there. He brought him food and water just in case he accidentally starved or thirsted. He also brought coffee in case that would make him feel more energised. Renjun probably sat for hours trying to convince Haechan he needed some daylight. Yet, he never stopped trying.

"Haechan, I brought some more food. Make sure to eat it all and drink water. If you aren't going to go outside, at least open your curtains so you can get some sun. It's a lovely day today..." Renjun smiled, even though a reply was not heard. "I'll be on my way to school. You can always come back when you want to. And if you're stressed, dancing always found a way to calm you down. Bye, Haechan."

Edging away from the door, Renjun slowly made his way out of the house and then to school. He knew he couldn't force him out of there but he knew he could make sure that Haechan was eating the food he brought, so at least he was somewhat healthy. The only thing Renjun could do was hope that someday Haechan would realise what this was doing to him.

On the other hand, Haechan waited until he heard the front door close to get the food from outside the door. He wolfed it down since he had barely eaten yesterday. Even with delicious food and enough water, he could feel his health slowly deteriorating underneath him. In addition, stress became uncontrollable as the exam period neared. Maybe a dance practice couldn't hurt after all?

Haechan packed a water bottle, a tea towel and his phone to connect with the speaker. He didn't need to pack heavy, he was going to the basement he shape shifted into a dance studio the year before. At least in there he could get privacy, and lots of it.

Getting into the room, he locked it shut, beginning to warm up straight after. He then stretched and played his music, dancing with full emotion. After his quite perfect performance, he decided he wasn't satisfied and started again, and again, and again. Sweat dripped down his neck and forehead as he continued practicing with no interruptions. The tiredness kicked in as each move he hit became sloppier each time he hit the beat. He must have lost track of time because the last time he checked, it was 9am, but right that second it was 9pm. However, time did not matter and he would not stop dancing until every beat was on point and every move was perfect.

It got to around 2am that it became tiresome. He was practically forcing himself to move as he got weaker with each run through. He almost passed out running it over continuously and he could practically feel his arms and legs shaking whenever he tried to move. But despite his pain, he kept going, straining his muscles even more.

All is a sudden, Renjun appeared again, somehow breaking the door open immediately. He saw Haechan sprawled on the floor, hand clutching his chest and the other on his head. Renjun suppressed his screams but he did manage to confront him.

"hAECHAN-" Renjun ran to him, the younger peeling himself off of the floor.

"Yes?"

"What? I haven't seen you in days and now that I do you're practically dead! It took me hours to actual get in your house because your mother decided she wants to ban me from your house. It's a good thing she flew half away across Asia or I would have never got-"

Interrupting Renjun, Haechan croaked out. "How did you even know I was here?"

"Well," the elder cracked his knuckles, "I tried to coax you into getting out of your room but I didn't expect it to work. I also didn't expect you to fucking try and die of exhaustion! Is it that hard to just listen to your body?"

Haechan scoffed. "Is it my fault I'm in a bad position mentally? I used to have a way of calming myself down, but he got a job. I'm sorry I'm too emotional for you, if that's even an apology."

"So I go out of my way to provide you with the basic needs to survive and this is the thanks I get? Gee, some friend you are."

"I don't need your help," Haechan spat, looking in the other direction. "Besides, I take way better care of myself than you think I do."

"Yeah, and I'm a hetero. We both know those aren't true. Look, I know Mark left so suddenly but that doesn't mean-"

"Mean what exactly? That I shouldn't be an emotional wreck? That I shouldn't over react because it's just a guy? If you've known me long enough, you know it just doesn't happen like that."

"I-" Renjun clenched his jaw, getting more irritated by the second. "I know. But if you keep acting out like this, it won't end pretty. You're practically sleep walking! Look at yourself!"

"Are you saying I'm ugly now too?"

Groaning, Renjun's stare intensified "Okay that's fucking it. I try my best to make sure you don't kill yourself again and I get shit for being a good friend. I put up with your annoying-ass attitude for a second and you scream at me for absolutely nothing. It seems like I'm putting in the effort for a lost cause here. Maybe I should just quit."

"Well," Haechan held in tears, "Yeah, maybe you should."

"Fine. I'll put my effort into a relationship worth staying in," Hissing, Renjun ran back up the stairs and slammed the door.

Haechan, before he could feel any resentment or anything for that matter, passed out on the cold hard floor. He didn't feel anything. He had just lost everything. Yet, he knew he had to do one thing.

Study.
