Allergies

So, I have many different ideas for this book, I want to share both positive and negative things because this is life. We have good and bad days and that's okay.

Today I wanted to share something that I have been dealing with for approximately the past 4 years. Horrible "cold allergy". Maybe there is a specific term for that, but I don't know it. Overall, I am just allergic to cold(both wind and water), sweat and wind. I sometimes joke , when people  ask me about what it is, and say that I am allergic to life. Dramatic, I know, but sometimes when it's really bad, if feels like it.

Pretty much what happens to me is, if I am lucky and it's a good day, anytime I am in contact with one of these things, for example, wind, I get red spots all over the places which were not covered by some piece of clothing. It's very itchy, it burns, but the discomfort goes away pretty quickly, it's the red spots that stay for longer.

But this is when I am lucky. I have had many unpleasant experiences, when it's not just the spots and itchiness, it's overall fatigue, my blood pressure drops, so I can feel light-headed  and I can have blurry vision or everything can turn dark for several moments  and I can't even see. I usually start feeling cold and because of the low blood pressure I can start shaking. Many different things.

We once had to call the ambulance to school, because I first ran to the bus stop, because I was late, so first wind hit me. Then I didn't take off my coat in the bus, so I got all sweaty. So by the time I got to school, I was covered in spots from head to toe, I was filling dizzy and couldn't even walk. Thank god there was a nurse nearby who helped me. I called my mom to pick me up by taxi, but the problem was that after I walked like 50 meters, I couldn't walk anymore, because my vision started to get blurry again and I felt like I had trouble breathing. So yeah, the ambulance came, they gave me a dose of some antihistamine and something else which brought my blood pressure up.

The best time of year for me is summer, because when it's hot, I usually don't get them or they are not that bad. Even if there is wind and I am sweating.

I don't want to scare anyone with horrible pictures, I have one, which probably is the least scary one, so I'll show it, but if anyone is uncomfortable, you can skip it, it's absolutely okay!!

The pictures never really show how bad and red it is, but you can still somewhat see it.

Of course, there is nothing good about having this allergy. It can mess up my plans for the day, because I don't feel good, but it definitely made me realize that I have to be more careful with my body. I need to put my health first and even if that means that I can't do sports at the moment,  wear certain clothing I like or swim for long in cold lakes or rivers( a weird hobby of mine😅) , it doesn't matter. My well-being is much more important.

If we talk about medicine, then there isn't much I can do about it to be honest. I do take certain medicine, which helps with my overall well-being and with the allergy, but it doesn't prevent it from happening or something. Whenever I do feel really bad,I take antihistamine medicine, but I wouldn't  say that it has that much  of an effect on me.

So yeah, I am sorry if it was boring to read, I had a lot to say, but I just wanted to share something  I have to deal with pretty much on a daily basis. I have more stories and things  I could talk about, regarding this allergy,  but maybe I'll do that in the future❤️
