CHAPTER 57:

Sam finally decided lumabas. Una niyang na notice ang pagkalinis linis ng unit niya pero at the same time ang pakiramdam ng coldness sa place. Then he said to himself,

"Umalis na siya." at tumayo lang sa kinatatayuan niya pero nung nagsink in na ang thought na yun ay dali dali siyang lumabas pero wala na sa hallway si Devon.

Sam weighed his emotions, his feelings for her kung may ginawa ba siya or hindi, Sapat ba ito o kulang. He keeps on thinking of some reasons that would justify everything.

Everything that’s happening towards him and Devon and he can’t seems to find any. He was lost. He needs to think and he needed to be far away from his condominium. All the things that surrounded him reminds of Devon.

He never looked back and just drive his way out.

While Devon decided to thanked Sam again whatever it takes personally especially from her grandmother's successful operation and went to his condo unit again.

But Devon knows that when she saw him she cannot barely utter the word “goodbye” because Sam didn’t deserve all of this, everything he had done for her.

I guess the most painful goodbye is the ones that left unsaid. It’s like a feeling that someone take a half part of your life way and you’ll feel the emptiness, being alone, worst the regrets that killing you inside. It’s a feeling that can’t be easily overcome. You’ll just get used to it until it somehow hides in your memories ... temporarily.

Just to thank him for one last time...

Others may see it as selfishness after what he did to save her grandmother but for her she doesn’t want the love that they build together was tainted because of some favors or dare that it make her feel heavy-chested that simple household chores is not enough to repay for what he did.

But she was sure enough to do something for Sam that even money can’t buy. “Anything” she said to herself.

When she arrives at his condo she smiled and sobbing, every corners of the room reminds her of memories they had with Sam.

Then she knelt on the floor, covering her hands on her face “I need to see you, Sam. Just for one last time.” She said loudly to herself.

Then she got up and runs to Sam’s room. All what she sees is an empty  room, until one thing caught her eye.

Maybe he hadn’t notice it when he leaves while she’s packing her things up.  She was worried for Sam and she must give it to him.

Its Sam’s wallet that’s holding in her hand tightly as she go out and find for him and leave her things behind.

Coincidence or fate, either way both was on her side to have a reason to meet him.

While she rode the taxi she looks outside the window. She was thinking what would happen if they met, if she would meet him personally or look from a far.

Then she shook her head it would hard for Sam to move on if he would see her or for both of them so she decided the last option.

No one can say that you’re right or wrong when it comes to love and life of maybe we need a perfect timing for all of it to run smoothly. Others may contradict. Others may agree. But its the courage to face the path which our decision lead us on.

For Devon, parang siyang naiipit sa dalawang naguumpugang bato. She knows that both paths she chooses are too painful to walk after.  She can’t continue the love that start from wrong, from game, from dare.

Others may see this as a small issue but for her it meant the whole world the pure love she wants to give to Sam. The thing he deserves the most.
