CHAPTER 24

Before Toni could pull away, Sam asked in an impish grin, "Will you come with me and Pratty tonight after the taping to catch up?"

Sam looked at her straight in her eyes hoping that she would finally say yes. He was smirking while wiggling his eyebrows suggestively. He didn't intend to ask her once more about it because he didn't want Toni to think that he was too desperate.  Although he was, it's as if a voice in his head told him to do so because he had a feeling it would bring about something really positive. And he didn't want to go back to the drawing board. This was a perfect opportunity to take.

Toni laughed at Sam's adamant urging and internally mused on how Sam had changed since she met him, 'Hindi pa rin talaga gumigive up itong si Sam na imbitahin ako sa dinner kahit ilang beses ko ng sinabi sa kanya na hindi talaga pwede. Ibang-iba nung una ko siyang nakilala.'

"Akala ko naman kung ano na! Kala ko, will you help me get up? Ha-ha-ha!! Kaloka! Palaka! Tumayo ka na nga diyan Sam!" Toni tried to say this in a very humorous manner so the awkwardness between them wouldn't build up.  

Sam wasn't giving up. He stayed there unfazed by Toni's demand. While giving her his most adorable puppy face look and squeezing her gentle hands, he asked, "So.. yes or no?"

Toni pouted and rolled her eyes in  a comical way.

"Hmm. Pwedeng let me think about it?"

 Toni was getting fidgety on her seat because obviously, being asked on the spot wasn't exactly the most comfortable situation that anyone could be in. This was also one of the reasons why Toni insisted Paul that if ever he would propose, it had to be private.

Vice interjected and flippantly swatted her hair off, "Echosera ka Tonia! Ha-ha-ha!"

Toni just laughed at Vice's remark and continued, "Give me.. uhm... one second. Ha-ha-ha!"

Vice: "Ang haba ng hair mo girl! Pero kung ako sayo Sam.. (*faces Sam) ako na lang dapat ang isama mo.. Alam mo kung bakit?"

Sam turned his head to Vice and asked, "Why?"

Vice: "Kasi hindi mo na kailangang maghintay ng sagot ko. OO na agad agad! Karakaraka!"

Everyone chuckled.

"So, ano na Celestina? Naka-one second na. What's your decision?"

Toni replied, her voice thick with confusion, "Grabe naman kasi itong si Sam, in-on the spot ako. Di ko tuloy alam..."

Even though Sam's knees were in pain because he had been kneeling for so long, he just stayed there and waited for her answer. "Just so you know, Toni. I'm not getting up until you accept my invitation." He finished with a wide smile, still wishful that Toni would acept his offer.
