"I can still back out if you want," Toni sighed and gave Paul her puppy eyes look. She definitely didn't want Paul to say 'yes'. She had been waiting for that teleserye project for so long. It would totally break her heart if she backed out but she knew she had 'girlfriend' obligations as well.
Paul breathed heavily and grinned. "I was just kidding, Tin. It's work and I completely understand."
"Thanks, Paul," she brightened up.
--------------------------------
She was so excited for the first shooting day of her new teleserye. She quickly dressed up in casual clothes, a white top and a skinny jeans. She was that simple. It was still early that's why she got to eat proper breakfast. Her stomach was overjoyed as she munched every last bit of her favourite pancakes. She drank the glass of milk in one gulp, and licked the last drop of it. She reached for her phone which was sitting on top of the folded newspaper on the table. Her mouth dropped open as she saw ten missed calls from Paul.
Bakit kaya?
Paul miraculously answered the phone after one ring. He wasn't usually like that. Before Toni could even say sorry for missing his calls and ask why he was calling, Paul worriedly barged questions at her at the other end of the line, "Are you okay? Why aren't you answering my calls? I was waiting for your usual 'good morning' text."
"Paul, calm down. I forgot to text you. I'm sorry I missed your calls. My phone was on silent. Don't worry, I'm fine. What time are you going to Ilocos again?"
"Oh, good. I was worried sick about you. I'm going in an hour. I'm really really sorry I can't come on your birthday."
"I understand. I have to go, Paul. See you next week, okay? I love you."
"Okay, then. See you. I love you too," Paul ended.
She flung her Hermes sling bag over her shoulders and shoved her phone inside one of her front pockets. Before she headed out to her car where her driver was waiting, she checked herself out in the mirror first. "Gorgeous," she told herself with a goofy smile.
She ambled to her car and enthusiastically greeted her driver, "Good Morning, Mang Ricardo!" Mang Ricardo replied with a beam. He bent towards the door and took over the wheels. Toni, however, buckled her seatbelt.
It was yet another traffic day for her. Her mind was preoccupied with flashbacks of her past with Sam Milby.
