Sam's room brightened as the sun's rays peeped through the windows. Sam woke up just before sunrise and he couldn't be bothered getting up so he just stayed in his bed. His arms were resting casually under his head. His mind was clouded with train of thoughts, mostly about Toni. He didn't want to make things complicated between them again now that he was sure that he still has feelings for her. He let out a deep sigh before bolting up to his feet and headed off to the bathroom.

He opened one of the doors of his Charred Oak mirror and seized his toothbrush resting on the second shelf.   He brushed his teeth and after that, he washed his face and dried it with a soft, white towel. Then, he raked his fingers through his unkempt, morning hair. When he was already pleased with the way he looked, he grabbed his phone in his bedroom and ambled his way down the dining room.

He greeted one of his maids, Joan, who was busy preparing his breakfast on the table. Being a superstar has its own perks and also has its downsides. For Sam's part, it is living alone by himself miles away from his family in the US while he continues to rise in show business in the Philippines. He plopped in one of the sleek dining chairs while waiting for Joan to finish preparing the foods on the table. He checked his phone and saw that he had one unread text message. He opened it and discovered that it was a message from Ashleigh.

"Sorry, Sam. Something came up. I can't go ice skating today."

He scratched the back of his head. He didn't even remember that he was going ice skating with Ashleigh today.

"It's okay, Ash. No worries," he replied and he placed his phone back on the table.

"Kain na po kayo, Sir," Joan cheerfully said to him as she placed the glass pitcher of water beside his plate.

"Why don't you join me? I can't eat all of this," Sam offered, rising up to his feet to pull a chair for Joan.

"Naku, Sir. Wag na po. Nakakahiya naman po."  She waved away his offer, pushing the chair back under the table.

"It's okay," Sam reassured her. He patted the chair next to him, gesturing Joan to sit down.

"Nakakahiya naman po." She gave in to Samuel's persuasion, slumping herself on the seat next to him.

Toni, on the other hand, was preparing breakfast for the whole family. She wanted to keep herself busy and useful after being awakened by the annoying sound of the vacuum cleaner and Catherine's ear-splitting singing voice. She was chanting Demi Lovato's Heart Attack at the top of her lungs. One thing that probably Cathy's fans don't know about her was that she enjoys vacuuming her bedroom very early in the morning. This wasn't new to Toni at all and she doesn't know how she could get used to it. Instead of having an early fight with her sister, she chose to sidetrack herself by going to Google and YouTube to learn some recipes. She had been learning more about cooking since Paul enrolled her in a cooking course as his fifth anniversary gift to her.

She distributed the white, ceramic plates around the table along with a pair of spoon and fork. Then, she placed the last dish that she had cooked for breakfast, a turkey hash with roasted garlic buttermilk smashed potatoes. It was at the centre of the table along with the gourmet stuffed french toast, Blanc Manger and bacon and eggs. She shook off her hands and smiled proudly. She washed her hands in the sink and dried it with the towel hanging on the oven's door steel handle. Her phone buzzed in the pocket of her apron. She reached for it and saw that she missed a call from Paul.
