First Love Never Dies- A Samtin Story

Chapter 32

Hi guys, 

It has been months since I last updated this story. And I am truly and deeply sorry. Being a University student is just so demanding. You have no idea how stressed I was with university stuff these past few months. I've been really busy doing projects and assignments and couldn't find time at all to write. 

I'm on study leave at the moment. I have an exam next week but decided to finish this chapter cos I really am feeling guilty for not updating this story in ages. And I know I'm letting you all down. 

And as you all know, Toni just got married which of course added to the reasons why I couldn't find the motivation to continue writing this story. Although, I really am happy for them. They're like the ideal couple. I myself wish I'll end up with a man like Paul - patient and loving. 

I've been planning on finishing this story soon because I don't have time to update anymore and because the drive and my inspiration in writing this story are slowly fading away. So yea. But I promise to write the next chapters the best  that I can. I promise to give you your Samtin needs. Hahaha. XD

Anyway, enough with the speech. Here's Chapter 32 - The Kiss. 
It's shorter than my usual chapters cos like what I said, I've been really busy.

CHAPTER 32 - The Kiss

As soon as Sam's lips crashed against hers, he felt the hesitancy and the surprise of her lips under his. Toni was unresponsive and stiff. Her mind and body dealt with how she should respond to the situation. Her brain tried to process the shock of being so close to him while a part of her concentrated on the way his soft lips were pressed against hers. His hands were cupping her face firmly, not too tight and not too forceful. She can feel his body emitting passionate and ardent heat. Once again, she felt the peculiar feeling at the pit of her stomach. Something inside her sparked and for some unexplainable reason, she found herself slowly relaxing to his touch. Blocking the world around her and the voices and thoughts inside her head, she softened her lips to fit his and responded, matching his growing fervour.

Sam drew her into his arms and kissed her with a rush of long-denied passion. As the connection between them intensified, Toni became aware of what she was doing. Realising what she had done, she instantly pulled away and slapped Sam on the face.

Sam was immediately forced back to reality. He touched the side of his face where her palm landed and said to himself, 'This is not enough sa lahat ng mga nagawa ko. I deserve this.' Toni gave him one look in the eye before she scurried away. Sam caught a glimpse of the tears that began streaming down her eyes as she retreated and it left a gash on his heart. Pulling himself together and keeping a brave face, he took a deep breath and followed Toni. 'She kissed me back. There has to be a reason for it. Is it just a heat of the moment kind of thing or Is it a sign of hope? Oh, shut it Samuel! You know better than this.'

"Toni, I'm sorry. Please mag-usap tayo, please. I'm sorry," Sam cried out while trying to tread at breakneck speed to catch up with her.

Toni turned a deaf ear to Sam's desperate pleas and ran faster so he couldn't keep up. Tears continuously rolled down her cheeks. Her entire life, she lived by a code - to be loyal, responsible, ethical, obedient and traditional. And much to her dismay, she broke it in a blink of an eye. She could feel her pulse beating, blocking out all the other sounds except her ragged gasps and the heavy stomping behind her. Her mind fogged up with guilt and she was having a difficulty to breathe. Her anxiety levels were rising and it seemed only a matter of time before her mind and body shut down.
