Toni slumped herself on her snugly green bed. She grabbed one downy pillow and rested it on her lap. Stretching her hand out to take a grip of her iphone, someone barged inside her room. Her head snapped to the door and found her ecstatic sister eyeing her with a beam. Her eyebrows knot together before grumbling, "Pwede mag knock pag may time, Catherine."
She scooted next to her side and chirped, "So, ate, anong gagawin natin sa isang araw?"
Loosening up, she shifted to face her, "Bakit? Ano bang meron sa isang araw?"
She mused teasingly, "May amnesia lang?"
"Ano nga kasing meron?"
"Talaga lang? Hindi mo talaga alam?"
"Hindi nga!"
"Birthday mo ate!"
"Ayyy. Oo nga pala noh."
"Ayy, baliw baliwan lang.. So, ano ngang gagawin natin?"
"Wala, kasi may shooting ako."
"Ganun? Anong oras ba matatapos yun?"
"Gabi na. And bakit ba gusto mong malaman? Parang ikaw yung may birthday," she said with an inquisitive tone, intrigued by Catherine's sudden interest on her birthday.
"Syempre noh, miss na kita dito sa bahay."
"Ewan ko naman talaga sayo. Pero sige, magpaparty tayo dito sa bahay after ng shoot. Hayyy, sayang wala si Paul." She smiled as she said the first two sentences but her facials abruptly changed into a downcast expression as she said the last one.
"Wala si Paul? Bakit? Ngayon niya lang yata mamimiss birthday mo."
"May work siya. Naiintindihan ko naman."
"Okay, fine. Basta magpaparty ka ha."
She chuckled at how frenzied Catherine was for her birthday, "Oo na!"
Catherine made a bug eyed expression and looped her arms around her frantically. She gave her a peck on the cheek which made Toni stood up from where she was seated.
"Eeewwww ka talaga, Catherine. Umalis ka na nga!" Toni said keeping a straight face, while trying to rub the spot on her cheek that her sister kissed.
"Eeeewww," she parroted trying to annoy her even more before adding, "Eewww, Eeeewww ka dyan! Gusto mo naman. Sige na nga. Alis na ko. Bye sis!" The corner of her lips tweaked up a little as she said goodbye to Toni.
When the door was shut, she let out a deep audible breath. She was paused for a few moments before tucking herself under the warm blanket. Her iphone buzzed on top of the drawer next to her bed. She reached for it and found Paul's name continuously flashing on the screen. She slid her finger across to answer her boyfriend's call.
