Messy without a Doubt

Forgiveness

Naruto and Sasuke walked into school the next day happy and together. Sasuke picked Naruto up from his house and picked him up coffee to keep him awake during class.

They sat down at Naruto's table and held hands smiling at each other and laughing.

"Why are you in such a good mood?" Kiba asked as he alone with Choji and Shikamaru sat down.

"Because Sasuke loves me!" Naruto yelled smiling wide and sipping on his coffee. His hand never letting go of Sasukes.

Kiba shook his head and smiled at his breakfast  sandwich. "Give me a bite!" Naruto yelled grabbing the sandwich from Kibas hand.

Kibas mouth fell open he glared at his best friend and grabbed the sandwich back "go buy your own you moocher!"

Naruto laughed and leaned his head against Sasukes shoulders he was happy. The two talked about Naruto's new medication and how it works the side affects and all. Sasuke was very nice and wanted to know it all. All of it.

"Are we going to the movies after school today?" Naruto asked as he finished his coffee and looked through his backpack for his book.

Everyone nodded their heads and decided the best time to go is around 3 so they will all meet at Sasukes after school.

"I'll need to call my grandma." Naruto reminded himself and sighed as he closed his bag. "I need to go to my locker I'll see you in class" Naruto said getting up from his seat and poking Sasuke in the forehead.

Sasuke nodded his head and made his way over to his table. His friends or sports teammates were starting to come around and some were even back to inviting Sasuke to parties not that Sasuke would go anyway.

"Sup Sasuke" one of them said as he sat down Sasuke sat down and talked to them. Just like old times. That doesn't mean there aren't people on the team that hate Sasuke because there is. They are just much more quiet about it.

Naruto opened his locker and searched through the papers for his book. He couldn't find it! He needs it for class he was going to be in trouble the teacher even sent out an email to remind everyone.

Naruto cleaned up his mess and sat on the ground his back leaning up against the locker.
He closed his eyes and wished when he opened them his text book would be floating in front of him and he can go to class happily. He could've sworn he put the book his bag.

"Naruto" the voice called. Naruto stiffened his heart beat increasing he knew that voice. He knew that voice better then anyone.

Naruto slowly opened his eyes and stared at Neji trying not to let the fear show.
"Neji" Naruto responded still seated in the ground.

Naruto watched as Neji took off his back pack and sat down next to him "I wanted to apologize"

Naruto's mouth fell open the nerves stopped for a second before running down him again only worse. His stomach hurt, his head hurt, the blood was running cold and he didn't know how to respond.

"Apologize?" Naruto whispered.

Neji nodded his head a look of shame on his face. "I'm really sorry" Neji said. His voice was sincere the look on his face said it all, he meant it.

"It's okay Neji. We make mistakes it happens. I forgive you" Naruto said. He said it and he meant a little of it but it would take longer then a couple minutes or days or weeks to think about and forgive.

"I made you try to kill yourself" Neji said his eyes were blood shot and only now has Naruto realized how awful he looks.

He hasn't seen Neji the whole school year really. He hasn't heard from him he hasn't seen him in any sport games he's been gone this whole year.

"You didn't make me try to kill myself Neji" Naruto said he held his backpack close to his chest and rest his chin on it. "There was a lot going on, you were adding to the problems but it wasn't just you. There was a lot."

"That's doesn't mean anything! What if you did end your life I would've been the problem and the reason and so much more and I wouldn't be able to live with myself. I barely can now."

"Neji it really wasn't your fault you don't have to blame yourself."

Neji shook his head and sighed "I'm a bully and  I can't believe I ever became this I really am sorry Naruto"

Naruto nodded his head and closed his eyes. Neji is sorry Neji understands. It sucks that it always takes so much before a person finally comes to their senses.

"I really do forgive you" Naruto said his eyes showed honesty but his heart didn't. He could say those words to let Neji sleep at night and to let Neji go through the walk of change on his own but it would take some time before Naruto can forgive.

The bell rang and Naruto and Neji both got to their feet Neji gave Naruto a small smile and a curt nod before making his way into the crowd of people and disappearing. Naruto knew he wasn't going to see Neji again and that was okay.

He's made peace with everyone at the school. He's ready to leave and graduate and move on. He's ready to leave. And he will be in a few weeks.
