(shoutout to anyone who remembers the 'stan x reader // first kiss' !! 🙌🏻🙌🏻 )
PLAY MUSIC WHENEVER!!
Slowly walking down the pavement layered in snow, the tense girl kept her gaze focused on the note she held in her hands. 'The girl' -- also known as (Y/n) -- knew exactly what the five letter note meant. She couldn't stop herself from tearing up from thinking about the conversation that determined her future, as well as his.
'Meet me in my treehouse.'
Those five words kept replaying in her mind, only the way his deep voice would say it. She could only imagine how nervous he was. She knew his history and how shattered it was so it was obvious about the outcome of this little rendezvous.
This whole ordeal felt so nostalgic to her. When she first got invited to his treehouse with a note that has those exact same words, they were both freshmen in high school. Her boyfriend — Stan — lead her to the treehouse where everything progressed from that point forward. That certain day, over for years ago, they confessed their pure love and they became s couple.
Things were going great, it was the highest point in their lives. (Y/n) and Stan's relationship was going strong, of course, for the first three years, just like any other relationship. But when senior year came around, things slowly yet noticeably started to fall apart.
Fights broke out every other day, then the makeup sex. Jealousy burned throughout their relationship like a fire, which caused more fights. Then there was the cheating...
Both of them were in the wrong as they had both cheated. (Y/n) with Clyde and Stan with Bebe. Kind of ironic as both couples did it to get back at each other. But it wasn't once with Clyde or Bebe... honestly who knew? Of course, there were other guys and girls.
In all honesty, Stan was her first love. She wouldn't take back a second with him; every kiss was spark, every conversation was intimate, and every touch was faithful. Just thinking back to how joyful each person was in the relationship made her heart a lot more if that was possible.
There was no going back, though. The damage was stained and there was no forgetting. Better times were awaiting as now they could both be free from the bittersweet burden holding both of them down.
Inhaling the crisp air deeply burned her nose. She could tell that her nose, cheek, and ears were a florid color now. God, the dread was pulling her back as she was now at his gate. It was open midway, most likely for her.
She folded the paper till it was smaller than her palm and put it in her jean pocket. She gently placed her warm hands onto the frozen gate and pushed it, the gate let out a small noise and it slid barely farther than before due to the snow.
There it was, the treehouse that she now came to love. Forever, it would always be a part of her although today would probably be the last time she would be able to get a good look at it. The fact that the treehouse had been going strong since Stan was in third grade amazed her. Truly, this was a special treehouse.
And then there he was -- the love of her life -- dangling his long legs from the board. He had been looking down the whole time, knowing that if he looked at how gorgeous she was, still in that state, he'd cry. He wasn't much of a cryer, unless it involved (Y/n). So he kept his attention to the snow on the ground steadily. The other small amount of his attention was placed on the cigarette he was smoking.
At this moment, (Y/n) couldn't find Stan any more attractive. Such an odd thing to say in this moment but it wasn't easy to ignore. Even in his most vulnerable moments there was no stopping her relentless amount of love for that boy, even if their relationship would soon be coming to an end that came way too fast.
Right now, the only thing she could do except go to the path of regret was to climb up the decaying wooden ladders, including the help of Stan. His touch would be something she'd miss for a long time... and it hurt so bad.
"Hey," Stan's voice was hushed but so welcoming to her.
"Hey," she wanted to say Babe after that but she knew she couldn't. But she was so used to it; every single day she'd call him a loving pet name but babe was the one she used the most.
As they now sat across each other on the wooden floors covered with blankets, cigarettes, and empty rappers of food items, they avoided eye contact. Oh how she wanted to look into those deep blue eyes that resembled a lively ocean. Oh how she wanted to kiss him one last time, just feel his touch. Her heart was handling too much at the moment, so she cried with it.
No — she bawled. She ran over and went to his lap to face him. Once she knew that she could cup his cheeks and give a final touch, she bawled in his neck. His strong cologne somewhat comforted her at the moment as she was so used to it... but now it would be a faded memory, although she could never forget it.
"It's okay, (Y/n)." Stan's voice sounded so pained, contagious enough that it spread to her. She shook her head and hugged him as tight as her weak body would let her. "I promise you'll be okay. We'll be okay." She didn't think she could be able to believe those words; not even Stan could believe those bitter words.
"No! I can't do it without you!" both of them knew she could. Stan possibly knew about (Y/n) more than she knew about herself. "Please..."
"We both know how this'll end up. I know it's hard at first but you'll get better, you'll find the one, you'll move on." She felt her heart wrench in unbelievable pain.
"I could never forget you, you were my first everything." She cupped the sides of his neck and whispered in his ear. His eyebrows went up. "Why does it hurt so much? I don't think my heart can take it." She cried out as quiet as she could but it was broken up in parts since her voice couldn't help but break.
"If your heart hurts, that means you were doing it right." Stan wrapped his arms around her as tender as tender could get. "I know you, (Y/n), you're the strongest person I've ever met. Please, don't let this small pain in your heart break it wholly." She sniffled which only ended up with more crying.
Might as well cry her eyes out since it would be what she would be used to for a while now, right? Sniffling and body trembles accompanied the crying.
(Y/n) took in a shaky breath and put some distance between her and Stan. For one last time she looked into those mesmerizing eyes that would be what she'd see when she closed her eyes at night. He gave her a saddened smile with tears streaming down his pale skin.
And for one last time, she gave him the most wholehearted and passionate kiss that her body could let out. As they both expected, the sparks were still as emotional and sentimental as before, but they slowly died down. The kiss was messy and since they had still been crying, it was salty.
And for the very last time, slowly and painfully, she withdrew herself from his body and felt the lingering feeling of his fingertips against her skin. Oh, it hurt so bad.
