Camila's POV

The year passed quickly, Lauren and I communicated as we could, via letters or online. It's amazing how, even without seeing it, love seems to have doubled.

I found out that she had to pay a lot to get the trip. And for that reason I didn't like it when she sent me a gift, because she throws away the money she is saving to be able to come.

However, I can't deny that it is always good to receive something that was already in your hands.

As for her treatment, she finished it, four months ago she comes normally, without having any relapse, I can say that now I feel totally proud of her.

The days kept happening, slow and torturous. I counted the seconds to see Lauren, I needed her again, to touch her,
to feel her perfume, her embrace, her kisses... obviously I missed them all in Miami, but it is her who calls my heart every day.

I was practically halfway through my conversation with Lauren, one of the few times I could call her.

And my heart wanted to spend more time listening to her talk... yes, after a year.

“So... I have to hang up, see you in two days” she said

“Okay I love you.” I said

The seconds became minutes and the minutes, hours. It was impossible to endure the anxiety. The days were slow to pass, it seemed like an eternity.

When the long awaited day finally dawned, I could hardly stand up, because of the nervousness.

The journey to the airport was long, my fingers were crashing against the car seat, nervous.

My leg was shaking involuntarily.
In the freezing air, watching the planes land, the tears began to signal, and my stomach ached and my body was completely tense.

After a year. Finally. I only allowed my mother to accompany me, I don't want to hear her talking, I need this moment to be as intimate as possible.

When they announced the number of the flight that just landed my heart accelerated.

I walked to the door where the passengers were leaving, but there were so many people that it was difficult for me to see. Nervous and anxious, she didn't even blink.

And that's when I saw her. In the middle of the crowd. Without waiting another second, I ran to her, colliding with the people on the road, and I threw myself into her arms.
