"Thank you Recovery Girl. Even though I wasn't too hurt I'm still glad you offered to patch me up," I smiled, buttoning my new gym jacket, "And thanks for the spare uniform." Bowing down to the petite woman, I hissed in pain as her cane whacked me ontop the head. My hands found their way to the raw, aching spot as I looked up to the woman in slight discomfort.
"Don't be so reckless next time!" She scolded, turning towards her desk t collect s plethora of documents. "You could have caused the stadium to go ablaze with that quirk of yours," I laughed nervously, still rubbing the sore spot gently.
"Sorry Ma'am, I'll keep that in mind next time," Opening the door I bided my final farewells to the elderly woman before making my way down the empty halls.
'I wonder who I'm going against next. I never really took the time to look at the board after my match with Gina,'
Passing up a dimly lit vending machine my eyes drifted to a row of energy drinks, each a different color. Feeling rather drained from my last fight, and Recovery Girl's healing quirk, I dug the spare change from my pocket swiftly placing in the correct amount for the beverage. Typing in the code carefully. I waited for the drink but was rudely interrupted by a small beeping sound attracting my gaze back to the red-lit words reading;
'Error Sold Out'
My eye twitched in irritation as I punched in the code once again but still with no different outcome to change my fate.
"You've gotta be shitting me," Putting in a new code with the same product in my efforts were fruitless as the beep once again rang obnoxiously.
"I can see it! Literally! It is right there!" Jabbing my finger at the thin sheet of glass, I tried both codes several more times. But I still received nothing in return but the brightly lit words that had created an irritating tick mark on my brow.
"L/n wasn't it?" My eyes widened in surprise hearing my name being suddenly called out. Looking over my shoulder, my mood turned sour seeing the flame-covered face that I had recently became despised of.
"Yes, what do you want now? Are you gonna tell me what to do with my life now? Sorry but not freaking happening." Turning back to my issue at hand I repeated the process of trying to retrieve my beverage that still sat there mocking me.
"You shouldn't talk to the number 2 hero th-"
"I'll talk to you however I please. You treat your own son like shit as far as I've seen and those kinds of things don't sit well with me." My words were sharp and dishonoring as I kept my focus on the energy drink that finally began to leave it's perch on the shelf only for it to get trapped in between the glass and a candy bar. "Shit,"
"I'll just get to the point, seeing as you have so little interest to speak with me-"
"What gave you that idea?" I intervened, a cocky grin finding its way to my lips, But endeavor continued with a heavy sigh.
"You overheard the conversation with Shoto and me. You're his classmate. I'm sure you must've noticed how he only uses half of his power," I tensed underneath the hero's intense presence, a heavy fog looming over the two of us, "You know how powerful a fire quirk is and how big of an advantage it would give someone like Shoto during the sport festival."
I stayed silent, my fingers moving the slightest bit as questions ran through my mind. "So, what are you suggesting here?"
"Get Shoto to use his fire," My chest felt heavy as I glanced up at my reflection in the glass of the vending machine. I looked back into my eyes as if trying to search for an answer within them, "Push my son towards being a better hero. One that will surpass All Might,"
'Found it.'
I sighed, finally having enough of this bull crap. Turning I looked Endeavor in the eyes coldly. A heavy silence drifted between us before I interrupted it with a loud punch to the vending machine, freeing my energy drink and taking a large chug of its surgery filled substance. Wiping my mouth gently, I gave the man a side glance.
"You almost had me there. I considered doing your dirty work until you brought up that surpass All Might bull shit." Appalled by my sudden actions, Endeavour's eyes showed great hatred towards me, only making me shrug it off. "You may be Todoroki's 'dad' and all, but that title only gets you so far. It's your actions that show whether you deserve to live up to that title or not," Taking another swig of my energy drink I walked passed Endeavor taking extra care to slightly bumping shoulders with the hero, "And you sir have no right to be a Father."
Walking down the hall after a prolonged silence I thought that would be the end of it, but as I was about to turn the corner his echoing voice spoke; "You're a dumb kid L/n. Provoking a hero, and a pro one at that,"
"The only thing your a pro at if getting on my nerves," I retorted, bringing my canned drink to my lips once more.
"Your childlike behavior will be your demise L/n,"
Turning back to the flamed hero, I gave the sweetest smile I could muster in front of the cryptic being himself.
"And your pigheadedness will be yours. I may be a child Endeavor but I know how to raise a kid," I stood my ground, looking at the tall man dead in the eyes, never faltering in the slightest. "Put more faith into your son. He's much stronger than you deem him to be. I don't know what kind of history you two have but it's obvious that your own son hates your guts. If I were you I would be more focused on trying to earn his trust back than pushing him further away with the pressure to surpass a hero even you can't."
Waving the hero off, I turned the corner.
"Have a nice day asshole!"
