Mending What Broke: Todoroki Shoto x Reader

'Holy crap'

Looking up at the sky-high building, my mind did flips as to who this hero was. Due to my Grandmother's incapability to get a computer at home and my mind going into hyperdrive about Todoroki and I's meet up, I hadn't had the chance to look up the mystery being 'Ilumify'.

Taking a deep breath, I entered the agency, my new hero costume in hand. Walking up to the receptionist desk, my eyes widened slightly seeing a man, no more than 28 years old, with snow-white hair. His pale chin slightly pointed in contrast to his chubby looking cheeks. 

At the sound of my footsteps, his gaze shifted from his computer screen to my entering form, his honey-brown eyes lighting up before he stood up from the black swivel chair.

"You're here! Vivian will be happy to hear that you made it safely," The rather tall male made his way over to me, his hands clasped together.

"Vivian? I'm here to intern with Ilumify," I spoke, the sudden fear that I was at the wrong place washing over me.

The snowy man laughed gently, placing his hand on my back, leading me down a slender, cream painted hallway.

"Ilumify is Vivian's Hero name. I'm sure you have one by now. I'm Ayu, the agency's receptionist, and part-time sidekick,"

"So, I hope I'm not being rude, but um...why haven't I heard of 'Ilumify' on TV or social media?" I asked, holding my costume case close to my chest. Ayu let out another soft chuckle patting my back softly.

"Vivian is an underground hero, much like your teacher, Eraserhead. It's a way of evading the constant spotlight of things, especially if you are someone like Vivian who doesn't care for masks," Nodding my head slightly, I averted my gaze, in fear of coming off as weird from making too much eye contact. "But of course you will have to ask her yourself. My two cents on the matter may not be the case at all,"

Before I could question it further, we stopped at a blurred glass office door. A square plaque with the engravement 'Ilumify' decorating the center. My mouth ran dry as Ayu's hand wrapped around the thing handle of the door, mind racing about how this mysterious hero would look like. Was she huge? Did she have really long hair? Was she a bodybuilder? Is she a jerk hero? What if she had a mutation type quirk? What if I say something wrong?! Will she disowns me as her intern?! Can she even do that?!

"Vivian, your intern has arrived-"

A blood-curdling squeal cut Ayu short as a large force rammed me into the ground, my body aching as a crushing weight covered me.

"I'm so glad you're here! We have so much to do! But first I have to show you to your room! I'm sure your parent slash guardian will understand-"

"Vivian, give the girl some space...quite literally,"

Blinking slightly, my vision blurred and the room seemed to spin as I sat up, my legs crossed. Shaking my head I looked up seeing a bright pair of grass green eyes. The twinkle in them enlightening as the dark-skinned woman placed her large hands on either of my arms. My e/c eyes widened at the close proximity of our faces, my attention briefly going to the neon blue strip running down the right side of her face.

"You must be hungry! Or thirsty! Both? We could go-"

"Vivian," Ayu exasperated, his thumb and pointer finger rubbing his temple as he let out an airy chuckle, "Focus please,"

Vivian let out her own nervous laugh, taking her hands off my arms and resting them in her lap. 

"Right- Hi there! I'm Vivian or you know Ilumify is my code name. It's a pleasure to have you as my intern!" Putting her hand out for me to shake, I nervously took it in mine giving it a non-firm but also not dead fish shake.

"Uh...Hi, I'm Y/n L/n, or um- my code name is  Hestia- Ma..ma'am?" Choking on my words my face heated up. My quirk activating as smoke began to cover the halls.

The short-haired brunette gushed as she began to pinch my cheeks the squeal from before making an encore.

"Oh, you're so cute! I could just eat you up!"

"Vivian dear, though I am sure L/n is having a ball, I am also aware of the long day she has had getting over here. Maybe you should show her to her room... maybe let her freshen up a little bit?" Ayu tried to persuade the young hero, only for her to protest.

"Nope nope and nope! We have patrol today! So go and get that suit of yours on and let's go!" With that said I was pulled up to my feet and was suddenly placed in front of a new door. Vivian and I now on the other end of the hall from Ayu, his figure giving me a small wave before he retreated back to, what I assume to be, his desk.

"Oh! Your teacher Aizawa informed me about how this is your first time actually using your suit so if you need anything redesigned don't be afraid to ask! I know how it is being a hero in training and making a bad costume design," Pushing me into the open spaced bedroom, Vivian saluted me, "We head out in ten kid!" 

With that said the off white door closed, leaving me alone and baffled in a strange room.

'Well...I guess that's Ilumify?'

Shaking my head, I turned to face the room, inspecting it closely I couldn't help but let out a small gasp seeing the large bed, propping up a straw basket filled with all kinds of chocolates and fruits, a large card decorating the top of the basket proudly.

Walking over to the bed, I gingerly took out the jumbo-sized card. The huge unicorn on the front giving me the idea of it being Vivian's choice. Letting out a small laugh, I opened the card, having to stretch my arms awkwardly due to its size. Looking inside, I smiled seeing both Ayu and Vivian's name written on the card along with many other names. What stood out most was the doodle of what seemed to be Vivian and me with large smiles. The words above it reading;

'Welcome to the Vertex Agency Y/n'

I sighed contently, folding the card back up.

'This is gonna be the best week ever!'
