Writing action and/or talking scenes with so many people is very difficult O-O

So I'm sorry in advance if it is hard to make sense of <3

-Y/n's POV-

"Oh, that sounds so exciting! A work-study with the new number one!" Mom cheered, "You must be nervous,"

Shrugging my shoulders, I adjusted my grip on my phone, switching ears, "Not really. I've met Endeavor multiple times before this. He's actually kind of a major ass whole. The only reason I accepted was so that maybe I could learn how to fly using my fire, and the fact that Shoto asked me to do the work-study with him,"

Leaning back against my bed, I watched as Mikoto scribbled into his coloring book, the two of them attempting to pass the time seeing as almost all of the students in the dorms went to see their families for new Year.

Not having that option, Mikoto and I stayed behind.

"Are you two gonna be working together?"

"Yeah. Three of my other classmates are also doing the work-study as well. Bakugou, Gina, and Midoriya,"

Mom paused for a moment, "Gina? You mean Yakatama's little girl?"

"Yeah, the one that I use to bring over to the house all the time when I was younger,"

"I heard she got into a bit of trouble earlier in the year. What's she been up to now?"

"She went to visit her aunt and uncle for New years," I explained, a small hum coming from mom.

"I remember when the two of you would run through the entire house playing heroes," Mom laughed gently, her tone of voice sounding sad, "You'd be dressed in that little Endeavor costume every chance you got. Heck, I think you even wore it before you got your fire quirk," Another giggle left her, our conversation falling short as we sat in a brief silence.

Clearing her throat, Mom's demeanor suddenly became a little more serious, "I was rewatching that interview you were in a little bit ago," She began, the sound of her hospital sheets shifting came through the phone, "I could see your what your hero costume looked like when they showed a little clip of you and your friends all fighting together," Another pause came, one she seemed almost hesitant to break, "I noticed... I noticed that scar you have on your back. I knew you had the one on your arm but not on your back,"

"Oh, that one?" I asked, eyes falling to the points of my feet, crossing my ankles, "Yeah, I got that one a while back," Playing it off as if it were nothing, I knew that she already had figured it out for herself.

She didn't say anything. For a moment, I thought maybe she had hung up. Taking the phone from my ear, I found we were still on call with one another. Holding the phone back up, I opened my mouth to call for her, her shaky voice beating me to it.

"I'm sorry your father and I put you threw all that," Hearing a small sniffle, she continued, "I really am sorry, sweetheart. I... I wish I knew how to make it up to you and your brother,"

"It's in the past," Though I said it, a part of me felt as if I was still owed something. Something from Dad. Clearing my throat, I decided to change the subject, "So did the hospital give you anything special for dinner tonight? For New Year and all?"

"Nope," She laughed, taking in a shaky breath, "Just the same old mashed food. I swear, this hospital needs to upgrade its choices. I think this is the third day this week I've gotten rice pudding and mashed yams,"
