"Ugh, I think Todoroki hates me!" I groaned, carrying my lunch tray as I walked alongside the girls as we tried to find ourselves a table to eat at.
"Why do you say that l/n?" Jiro asked.
"Well... I may have said or did...a little something that may or may not have pissed him off just a tiny bit." I sighed looking down at my hefty plate of food on my tray.
"What exactly di you 'Say or do'?" Yaoyorozu asked, looking over Jiro down to me.
"That's the thing... I have no idea! Ever since today he's been... oh I don't know... moody? Fucking emo peppermint." I grumbled.
"Heh! L/n and Todoroki sitting in a tree K-I-S-HMPH!" Shoving a bread roll in Gina's mouth, I growled.
"THAT IS NOT WHAT IM SAYING!" I yelled, my cheeks burning from the embarrassing conversation.
"Hey girls!" Stopping our conversation the four of us looked down at the grape headed boy who stood in front of us.
"Uhm, Hi." I greeted, as the girls just stared at the boy uncomfortable.
"Aizawa told me to tell all the girls that they have to put on cheer uniforms for the big cheer battle this afternoon,"
"What cheer battle!?" I asked, a rush of anxiety overtaking me.
"That's odd this is the first time I'm hearing about it, are you sure?" Yaoyorozu questioned.
"You don't have to believe me if you want to get in trouble. This is coming directly from Mr. Aizawa,"
"Well...I don't really want to get in trouble, so I guess I'll do it," I sighed, giving up on finding a decent seat to eat at and just putting a chopstick full of rice in my mouth. "When does it start?"
"Right before the finals," Mineta said, before walking off.
"Well, I guess we still have a little free time before the-"
"Y/n!"
"Wha-AH!" Getting the wind knocked out of me caused me to topple over in pain as I just barely managed to hold my tray steady.
"What the?! Who's that?!" Jiro yelled, confusion evident in her voice.
"L/n are you okay?!" Yaoyorozu questioned as she bent down to my crippled form.
"Heh, nice one Mikoto!" Gina congratulated, a knowing smirk growing on her face.
"DON'T ENCOURAGE HIM GINA! YOU LITTLE BRAT WHAT DID I TELL YOU ABOUT HEADBUTTING ME!?!?!"
"Leave your brother alone would you?" Looking up, I watched as Grandma walked my way while digging through her purse before nonchalantly placing a single butterscotch in each of my friend's hands.
"He's the one who just busted my gut open!" I retorted earning an eye roll and an accusing finger pointing at my nose.
"Learn how to take a punch!"
"Um, excuse us?" Looking towards my tall classmate I noticed the rather confused faces of Jiro and Momo' "But, who are these people?" Momo finished softly, a small blush on her cheeks.
"Oh! I'm sorry young ladies, how rude of me. I'm Y/n's Grandmother, Baba L/n. And this is-"
"I'm her totally awesome brother, Mikoto!"
As the four of them got aquatinted with one another, I looked over to the rather quiet Brunette next to me. Her usually happy smile was now wilted into a sad one, the realization as to why hitting me as I noticed so many other family members of other students showed up to congratulate their child or sibling for achieving so much.
As my eyes searched the crowds my eyes landed on two peculiar figures, both ones I haven't seen or heard from for a while now.
Smiling to myself I poked Gina's shoulder earning her attention immediately. Not saying a word I pointed to the incoming duo, her eyes lighting up like fireworks as she saw who it was.
"Mom!" Running towards the two figures the momentarily happy girl jumped on the older looking woman, trapping her in a hug.
Laughing slightly to myself, I let the family have one of their rare moments together.
After all, it's been three months since Gina has seen her Mother at all due to her being in America taking care of Gina's great Aunt who had fallen ill.
Much like Recovery Girl's quirk, Gina's mother has a healing quirk, the only difference being that her quirk doesn't take energy away from the 'patient' but more like the user themselves.
Smiling softly at the family of three, my eyes wandered around the food court once more, their fragile e/c landing on a well-kept head of red and white hair.
My smile had slowly turned into a pouty frown remembering the strange behavior the boy had shown since their first encounter of the day.
'Maybe I should give him some space for a little while,'
"Yo! Todoroki! It's me Mikoto!" Running past my frozen form, the young energetic boy called out for the dueled hair boy's attention.
"Ah! Mikoto leave Todoroki alone!" I yelled after him, worried my young brother might take Todoroki's harshness to seriously.
Catching up to the horned boy I was taken aback seeing Todoroki bent down on one knee and giving Mikoto a small ice show. A smile on both their faces, Mikoto's being way more noticeable than Todoroki's whose of which I had caught by the small lift in his cheeks.
'What. The. Hell. He'll smile at Mikoto, the kid who head-butted him their first time meeting, and then yell at me and give me looks.'
"Did you see my sister? When you knocked down that giant robot on top of her she like froze in place! And then she wouldn't come out! I was so scared!" Mikoto exaggerated, the two boys completely ignoring my presence.
"I'm sorry for causing you to worry, I felt the same way when I found out she was caught under the 0-pinter," Todoroki apologized, the last part catching me off guard at the sudden concern.
"Yeah but then it was all like 'blub blub blub' and like blah-blam! She jumped out of there like a mad woman and caught up to you and tada! she got into the second round! Oh! And then! When you and she were teamed up she was all like'I'mma protect you!' and you were all like 'I'mma let you do you!' You know?" Mikoto fanboyed as his rambling began to make less and less sense each second.
But none the less, Todoroki gave a nod of understanding, even if he didn't truly understand what the boy had meant.
"Yeah that move your sister had done to protect us from dark shadow was rather brave of her," Todoroki complimented casing me to smile brightly at the thought of the stoic boy thinking so highly of me despite his prior actions.
"Well, I'm flattered Todoroki," I interrupted the two, earning a surprised look from the heteromeric eyed boy. "Come on Mikoto, we have to start getting ready for the next challenge," Taking my brother's much smaller hand in mine, I looked back over my shoulder giving Todoroki, who still sat kneeling on the floor, a small wave. "See you soon Todoroki!"
