-Y/n's POV-
"When are you coming back again?" I sighed, rummaging through my old bag, dumping out the old items I never once used out onto the kitchen island.
"Grandma I wrote it down on the notepad next to you. The place we're going, the time I'm leaving, the time I should be coming back at, and even to who I'm going with. My phone number is on there to in case you can't find it on that fossil phone of yours." I heard a growl from the silver-haired woman as she flicked a chocolate chip at my forehead, her harsh flick causing the chocolate morsel to fly back into the bowl as she continued to mix it in with the cookies.
"Watch what you say girly. I may be old but I can still beat your ass," I laughed lightly. The images of my ram horned Grandmother head butting me sending a small chill up my spine.
"I'm gonna go get dressed," Turning on my heel I made my way towards the stairs when Grandmas's voice stopped me.
"Tell your brother that his sandwich is on the counter."
"Where is he?"
Pointing her cookie dough covered spoon past me she spoke, "Living room,"
Walking past the stairs I entered the living room. No signs of Mikoto anywhere besides for the two small horns poking out from behind the couch. His legs crossed as he sat on the floor in front of the TV, his eyes glued to the screen.
"Miko, Grandma made you your sandwich," Leaning over the back of the couch, I study the back of the boy's figure. His body giving off no reaction to my being besides for slight shaking in his shoulders.
Raising an eyebrow I opened my mouth to speak, only to stop myself when I caught a glimpse of the TV. A woman with gills and blue hair looked out towards Mikoto and me, the square of paused footage from what seemed to be a crime scene catching my attention.
"Earlier today in a rather quiet part of the city, things got hectic. Two unidentifiable small-time criminals that have been rampaging the city for little over a year now, were finally caught on tape breaking into the local jewelry store. We will play the footage now,"
The small square enlarged itself, the video playing instantly, the sound muffled from the awful security sound system blared. The door was opened wide, the glass shattered onto the ground as two figures rushed to the cabinets of jewels, breaking int them as well as the cash vault hidden under the cash register.
A smaller figure turned to look at the door as police lights eliminated the store. Their side profile blocked by a small masquerade mask, their curvy figure making it clear they were a woman. Her hair is a short bob while her light/dark lips were glossed over with what I could only assume to be lip gloss. You could hear shouting from her as she alerted her partner. Her voice pulling me in even more at the slight sense of recognition.
A shot rang out, the bullet hitting and shattering the glass of a case near the bolder figure, their hand throwing up n the air, when suddenly a shield of air appeared, one of the cop's bullets ricocheting into another's leg, causing the cop to fall to the ground.
'Sheilds?'
Looking back to the woman, I could feel my heart stop and drop to my stomach. Fire licked the walls of the building, a hole burning and creating an escape for the two.
The flames scattered until they enveloped the camera, damaging its picture.
'Fire?'
The clip ended going back to the woman, her lips opening to speak when suddenly her words choked and her face froze. The screen playing once again only this time in reverse.
Flashing my eyes down to Mikoto I noticed the remote in his hands, along with an old photo from one of grandma's picture boxes.
The gray film reminding me of exactly which photo t was.
'Mom and Dad... why would he have that?'
Hearing the click of the remote I glanced back up to the TV. The image now paused on the woman's side profile along with the bolder figure's front half, their face also covered with a more masculine mask.
Glancing between the photo and the television my stomach began to ache as I noticed the similarities.
Lips.
Facial structure.
Hair color.
Body type.
...And quirk.
My bottom lip shook as my eyes watered.
'They can't be them...'
The video continued to play, the woman calling out again, only this times her words seem to be more clear than before, her honey pepper voice capturing the man's attention just like they did last time.
"Ti-a-achgee"
'Tiachgee?'
Growling under my breath I leaped over the couch, riping the remote out of Mikoto's hand, his voice wining at me to give him the remote back, while I focused my attention onto the screen, rewinding it to listen more closely.
"Diachee"
My eyes grew wide, rewinding it, again and again, re-hearing that dreaded name I've been wanting to hear for so long now.
"Daichi!"
"...Dad?"
Pausing the TV once again, I examined the bolder figure closer. My fears quickly growing into a rage as everything lined up. Making everything clear.
"Those sons of bitches!" I threw the remote to the ground the plastic of it melted due to my hands smoking.
Grandma rushed into the room, her eyes narrowed as she entered.
"What is all the yelling about!?"
I ignored her feeling the tears well up in my eyes as everything piled on me at once.
"Why the hell are they here!? Why now?! What nerve do they have coming back here and running around robbing places!? What happened to quitting this shit- Huh Dad!? What about you Mom?! Did he drag you down with him!? Or was this your own idea?!"
"Y/n! What on earth are you going on about-"
"Them!" Pointing an accusing finger at the paused TV screen, I jabbed at the glass harshly at the taller figure. "They have some fucking explaining to do! What happened to coming back?! What happened to being a family?! Why the hell have you been waiting an entire year in the city and not even come by to say 'Hey we're alive and we love you!' Who gives you the right!?"
Grandma stares at the TV screen, her shaky hands coming up to her mouth as she stares in shock.
My teeth throb from grinding them together, my mouth is dry and my words now tangle up in my throat, the only thing able to come out is the tears that once stung my eyes.
I feel my finger go limp and slide down the hot glass of the TV, down their fucking figures. My knees hit the floor and I stare at my Grandma, choked sobs escaping me,
"Why... Why do they insist on betraying us...?"
"Darling..." Grandma pries her eyes away from her very own flesh and blood and the one that married into this family.
She sinks down to the floor clasping her shaky hands on my shoulders, "I-I... I don't know... maybe they got stuck in something, m-maybe they're being threatened or-"
"Grandma..." I manage to croak out, placing a soft hand over one of her trembling ones, her lip quivers as she stares at me, "...No more excuses... we need answers. REAL answers."
"...you aren't.."
"I am... I'm..." my breath hitches.
"I'm going to find them... and I'm going to get the fucking truth," I glanced back at Mikoto, his hands clasping onto his shirt with a scared and confused look on his face as he stared at Grandma and me. I sighed taking Mikoto into my arms and hugging him for dear life,
"For all of us."
