Can We Have Fun

The arrow-like rays from the sun passed through the window and directed on my cheek. Oras na naramdaman 'ko ang init ay napabukas ang aking mata. My eyes squinted right away from the onslaught attack of the light. A scowl is visible on my features when I looked around the van. Nakahinto na ang sasakyan. Almost everyone not on their seat. Ang nanatili ay si Coleen na nanatiling tulog, sunglasses on. At the front row, wala na si kuya Kit at Tripp. Sa likod naman, si ate Lily lang ang natitira, abala sa kanyang telepono. Miski ang driver namin ay wala na rin sa kanyang pwesto.

"Sa'n na sila, ate? Saka nasaan na tayo?" My voice is raspy from the sleep. I cleared my throat.

Her eyes lit up instantly and put aside her phone. She tucked a stray hair behind her ear and talked, "Pundaquit na tayo."

My mouth fell open, unintentionally. I blinked back the disbelief. Lily chuckled at my expression.

"Kinakausap nila 'yong bangkero. Tripp doing the negotiation. Same with the other boys. Don't worry. You don't miss a lot." She put her index finger on her chin, cutely. Ngumuso ito at tinuloy ang iniisip. "Iyong sa kabilang van, halos gising na yata. Naghanap nang comfort room. Sinamaan yata ng tyan si Julia."

Naaligaga ang sistema 'ko. I am so close of slipping out and check my cousin. Ngunit ang boses ni ate Lily ang nangingibabaw. "Wait! Wait! Ang alam 'ko, okay na siya. Hindi na kumikirot. Dahil siguro sa kape 'yon." It's probably the acid reflux. Each one of us has her med whenever it bother her.

I still need to check Julia if she's really okay. And I have to see how my boy cousins will handle everything. When I briefly glanced through the window, the sun is almost rising. Color hues are unbelievably and captivatingly beautiful. Napatigil ako nang panandali upang pagmasdan ang pagpinta sa langit. The darkness is slowly losing its place to the sky. It is slowly covering an apricot colored like. You don't need to be a bard to describe the awesomeness of it. It is truly amazing how God planned the sky.

I took out my phone and captured it.

I have to get out sooner!

"Sige, ate. Lalabas muna 'ko..." Napakagat ako nang labi nang makita ang posisyon ni Coleen.

Her feet rested on the ground firmly. Kaunti galaw lamang ay natitiyak akong magigising siya. I don't wanna be the cause of it.

How could I get out, anyway? Ayokong maistorbo siya sa pagtulog.

However, before I could close my eyes, the door opened easily with one force. His face beamed hastily. "Good morning, princess," He said with a smug and crooked grin. My lips parted, eyes blinking hard but I suddenly changed my features. I shoot dagger right in his face-arrogant yet striking.

I heard ate Lily chuckled. On my peripheral view, her head whipped in glee. I wore frustration all over my face.

"Morning, Satan." I greeted back with gritted teeth. I rolled my eyes. I don't want to back down easily. If we are on a war, I'd gladly fight back.

And Genesis lifted his lips into a smile-a beam mostly.

"Nag-agree na ba 'yong bangkero?" anang ate Lily, maputol lamang ang titigan naming dalawang walang nagpapatalo.

"Yep. Si Jayden na ang kumausap. She gave him some real evidence about the amount we should pay. Muntik nang maiba..." Genesis uttered, eyeing Coleen. His lips curled and his eyes landed on me. Tinaasan 'ko siya ng kilay ngunit bumalik kay Coleen.

I bit my bottom lip, unsure where to look.

Genesis tapped Coleen's arm. It is swift motion that made Coleen's eyes snapped open. Ginusot niya ang mata habang pinoproseso ang lahat. Her eyes darted to Genesis straight away. I am staring at her back as she gazed him. Hindi 'ko makita ang emosyon niya. But I can only saw Genesis'. Shocked, that his eyes averted to me in an instant, not on Coleen. "Saan na tayo..." rinig 'kong wika ni Coleen.
