"Thank you." Alec said after he handed him the money and asked him to keep the change. The guy was happy although he wasn't intended to return the money but the thought is what counts. Alec stood by the cemetery gate inhaling a sharp breath before he exhaled them. In his hand, a flower, baby breaths to be exact. Its silly to give those kind of flower to be put on the grave but it meant a lot to him.

As he walked the quiet path, he can't help but thinking about the past. He never talked about Max to anyone, not even Magnus, his family stopped talking about him right after he died. Trails of clean cut grass guided him to his brother's grave, after a few minutes of walking, he finally arrived.

Max's grave wasn't extravagant like other people placed it since he died so young. He died before he even turned six. Alec was barely a teenager when he died. He stared at Max's grave and he cried, it was a mess. Dried weed grown on each sides of his curb, no flowers for him except for Alec's. He never told anyone this and not even Liam knows that every single year during his anniversary of Max's death or his birthday, Alec would be here.

"Hey buddy, its been a while." Alec said crouching down in front of his grave stones, he rubbed the dirt off his name. "Maxwell Lightwood, Taken too young, never forgotten. May the angels be with your soul guiding you to the heaven paths." Alec rubbed his thumb across Max's name not realizing a silent tear fall on his cheek. He placed the flower on his grave and kneeled on the dirt ground staring at the stone like it was his brother.

"I'm sorry it has been a while Max, a lot of things happened and I'm pretty sure you don't wanna know about it." Alec sighed staring down before he looked up again, "I miss you bud." He choked in his own tears, "More than words, I wish you are here, you'll have Rafe to keep you company." Alec said smiling in his tears, "God, I wish you were here Max. I want you to know that I'm so sorry, I shouldn't have pushed you away especially when I'm angry at dad. I'm so sorry." Alec mentioned, over and over again not realizing someone is approaching him from behind, "Alexander."

He knew that voice very well, he wiped his tears in a hurry before he looked around him and saw Magnus with daisies in his hands. "What are you do- how did you find me here?" Alec asked looking surprised to see him there. "I called Isabelle, she told me you would be here, I don't want you to feel it alone." He said as he placed the beautiful daisies on the ground next to his.

He crouched next to Alec and wiped the tears on his face, he looked down not knowing what to say, especially how to explain everything. "Don't shut it out Alexander, I know you miss him, you can say it in front of me." He said and Alec leaned against his palm, more tears falling on his cheek.

"I'm sorry I didn't tell you anything about him before." He started and Magnus smiled, "Its okay, I don't want you to feel bad about it." He said and Alec sighed, he looked back around and kept his gaze on the grave, "Its a mess." He said as he pulling the dead weed from the ground and try to clean the grave as best as he could.

What he didn't know is that Magnus crouched next to him helping him cleaned Max's grave. Silently they both finished it in time and the grave is cleaned, only dirts on the ground, looking worst than before. "Its empty." Alec said and Magnus looked at him back and forth, "What do you mean?" He asked confused, "A grave should be treated like a garden, its where the body lies but the soul taken away. It shouldn't look like this, it should have flowers, trimmed cut grass, cleaner stone, not some moldy piece of rock."

He said angrily, tears still running his face as he stood and scraped the mold out from the stone, clearing Max's name on it. "Alexander stop." He pulled him back but Alec pulled his hand away and continue assaulting his fingernails on the stone scrapping his skin along with it. The stone has rough edges that cut his skins into small wounds, "Alexander!" Magnus called pulling him away from the grave and he fought hard.
