"... so other than Mr Clarkson from English the rest of the teachers aren't that bad. Then again, it says on your timetable you're taking history as an elective and I'm not, so I haven't got a clue what your teacher for that will be like but I haven't heard anything terrible." Stevie, the only person in this school that I knew before starting here, explained whilst pointing everything of interest on our little tour around the grounds.

"Do you know who's else is taking history? That's the only one we have apart right?" I asked nervously, my dislike for the subject showing through in the disgust on my features. The feeling was aided with the fact I was going to be alone in that class. It made me feel like a rabbit walking into a den of wolves and I sure did not fancy getting eaten.

"Uhhh I dunno actually maybe ask Holly? She might be, if not she'll know someone who is."

"Have I met Holly yet?" I asked as we turned a corner, I'd only met a few of Stephens friends briefly already, so far everyone had been nice but I wasn't going to get my hopes up. One things for sure though, I was glad to have Stevie there helping me out.

"No I don't think so... I'll introduce you at lunch time, she's lovely don't worry." He replied with a warm smile.

My heart leapt painfully from my chest when suddenly, I was tugged to the side as a blur of giants ran past, almost knocked me off my feet. I turned to watch the boys in football kit flying past in the corridor, laughing and shoving people out of the way as they chucked a ball between them. "Jerks. Come on let's keep walking." Stephen said grumpily, letting go of my backpack.

"Thanks... uh what about the other students here?"

"Well the Footie team are all self obsessed, brainless jerks but they aren't harmful normally... What other people?... do you mean, like people we sit with at lunch or..."

"no like... I dunno the other people..."

"Ah you mean the troublemakers. Well sorry to say but we aren't short of them in this school." He grinned, shoving his hands in his pocket as I scurried to keep up.

"oh god I'm gonna die here." I whined over-dramatically running a tired hand other my face, I'd only been here for a
short time and already it felt like years.

First of all I had tutorial which saw me stood in front of the class with a grinning teacher almost twice my height telling everyone I was the new boy. So much for staying under the radar. Some dickhead dumbly shouted out 'He's so small he looks like a lass', I stood there as everyone laughed and walked, with my head down, to my seat.

The insulting comments and jokes hurt but they were nothing new, it was laughter I couldn't stand. I loved to make people laugh, ever since I was little, but it's physically and emotionally painful when it's malicious laughter directed at you instead of with you. In that moment, as the laughter shot daggers through me, I felt the familiar grey cloud settling above me. Clouding my every move in darkness.

Stevie snapped me out of those thoughts; "Oh come on you big drama queen your not gonna die. Most of them won't even look twice at you," Ha yeah in my dreams. "just keep your head down and it'll be fine." Easier said than done. "There are some people to be careful around though... we don't have much time before class so I'll point them out through the day but one person I will say stay clear from is McPartlin." He leant down a little and whispered the last part.

"McPartlin?.... ugh Black hair? Denim jacket? Grumpier than an old man in a pride march?" Stephen chuckled and felt the grey cloud receded a little more.

"You know him?"

"He had just been suspended before my meeting with the head."

"Oh yeah he's rarely in school, last time he got suspended it was for being drunk on school property, this time was probably for beating the shit out of schools football captain this morning, the guys a dick anyway so I don't blame McPartlin. Anyway, it doesn't matter who he's around you can be almost certain there will be a fight."
