Dec's POV
There was a mutter of thunder from the blackened sky as the wind tore leaves from the trees. The rain lashed down, torrential and unforgiving against the roof of the empty house sending shivers down my spin. I hated thunderstorms. Ever since I was a kid, they'd been terrifying to me.
I spent the rest of that evening sat in front of the TV at home, mesmerised by the flickers that lit up the dark room. I tried to warm myself up whilst waiting for my Pizza to arrive. My mind kept wondering over to the events of that day and particularly, a certain black haired, bad boy. Only that was the thing, what he did wasn't very bad-boyish it was kind and thoughtful and it only made me more curious about him.
I was snapped from my thoughts as a heavy knock on the door blended in with the sound of thunder. Wow that really was quick. Guess I won't be getting a free pizza. I thought as I made my way through the unusually quite house towards the door.
When I opened the door it was not the Pizza delivery guy that I'd expected to be there, instead it was probably the last person I'd expected.
Anthony McPartlin was stood on my door step, completely drenched from head to toe. he looked terrible, worse than yesterday morning; blood ran from his nose in streams and he was sporting a nasty looking bruise that decorated all along his jaw line. His knuckles were badly battered and his hand was clutching his slightly bloodstained shirt. What surprised me the most was the scared, vulnerable look in his bloodshot and puffy eyes. I stood there in shock, the contrast between the person I'd been talking to just a few hours ago and the broken boy on my doorstep too much to take in at once.
He leant heavily against the door frame and faltered slightly on his feet. My heart clenched in my chest in worry as I reached out to catch him. I closed the door behind us before letting the taller boy wrap his arm around my shoulders and leading him into the house,
I'd never seen anyone so battered and weak, I didn't know what to do. I tried to lead him over to the stairs but he became more and more limp in my arms as his body started giving in to the exhaustion. He coughed and spluttered, taking his hand from his ribs for a moment to wipe away some of the blood from his face. "I-I'm sorry...I-I had n-no w-where else to go."
"Don't worry it's fine." I rush to console while adjusting my grip on the beaten boy. As I looked up into his deep blue eyes I was struck by the poisonous clouds of pain and sadness "W-Who did this to you?"
Anthony didn't answer, instead he simply remained silent, clenching his jaw and averting his gaze to the floor.
I sighed and tugged his arm more securely around my smaller body before speaking again despite the lack of conversation making me nervous. "It doesn't matter... come with me, you need to get out of your wet clothes." With some difficulty I manage to carry the larger boy up the stairs and into the bathroom where I carefully sat him down.
I outstretched to take off his bloody shirt but, like lightening, the taller boy roughly caught my wrist in a firm grip with a new found fire in his eye which caused me to look down shyly, unable to hold eye contact. "You're bleeding. I need to see."
