BGT the champions in 1 minute people, so if you can't watch it, here's a chapter :) xx
"Ant?! You here?" I called as I entered the house and took a good look around. He'd been here for a 2 weeks now, so I didn't feel as odd having him stay with me. We ate together most nights, but the rest of the day I'd be working so he'd stay in the house. On my days off though, he gave me space and go out on a run. I got to admit running and Ant was a bit light ketchup and cake... it just didn't seem right.
He explained there wasn't a lot to do in prison but if you didn't want to lift weights you could do some laps, good way to let off some steam apparently. Anyway it explained how he looked so athletic.
"Aye! I'm in the spare room." I dropped my bag and went up to the spare room. As I popped my head in I saw him doing something the old Ant would never had been caught dead doing.
He was reading.
"What you doing?"
"Uhhh... reading?"
"You don't seem sure." I smirked leaving casually on the doorframe.
"Well I know I'm reading, I thought it would have been obvious."
"You never read."
"Well... I uh... thought if I wanted to get a qualification... I might need to start." He'd changed so much, I kinda miss the bad boy act but for some reason this was more appealing to me, he was trying to solve his problems, the right way.
"Good idea... you wanna go to the pub then?" He rubbed his hand over the back of his neck, a gesture that I've come to recognise as something he does when he's nervous or uncomfortable.
"You don't want to?"
"No! I do..."
"You're uncomfortable Ant tell me why."
"I...Umm... I don't drink." My eyebrows shot up, that hadn't been the reply I was expecting. Then again he's always full of surprises. "Managed to struggle through the addiction in prison."
"Wow, sounds like another reason to celebrate. We don't have to go to the pub, let's go out and have a meal then?"
"Really? I don't want to make you uncomfortable."
"Yes really, we are friends and you've just got a job, let me take you out." I didn't miss the flash of hurt in his eyes when I called us friends. Let me go Ant, neither of us want to go through that pain again.
"Okay then..."
"I'm gonna get out of my work stuff."
"Alright I'll meet you down stairs."
Ants POV
It was wrong. I shouldn't have been so excited, nervous and hopeful at the prospect of going out for a meal with him. It wasn't a date and I had to keep telling myself that but in all honesty this is what I'd dreamed about whilst behind bars for 4 years. Just me and him. Together.
So far it hadn't gone as my dreams had planned. I had sweaty palms and inside my mind was a constant battle, I was gonna screw it up, he's gonna realise I haven't changed at all... he's gonna hate me and kick me out.
My eyes shot up from where I was tying my laces to see Declan, graceful as ever, making his way down the step. He looked gorgeous. He was wearing a checkered shirt underneath a smart fitting jumper which hugged his slim figure perfectly. I gulped as my eyes wondered over his body. He was just perfect.
