Oh my god Dec's holding a puppy!! Sooo cute!!

Final Chapter 😢💔 and it's long, I've had the image of how I wanted it all to end in my mind since around chapter 20 so I hope I've translated how I wanted 🥰

Ant's POV

"How many of those have you had now Declan?"

"Uhmm..." he looked at the cider in his hand and pouted adorably in thought, "Three?"

I let out a hearty laugh and shook my head, "you've had way more than three baby, how about you slow down a little ay?" I gently removed the alcohol from his hands and out of his reach while he reached his arms up to it. Very smoothly I placed a cup of the, very fruity, punch in its place and he sipped on the straw happily instead.

He finished his drink pretty quickly and went to moved on to the ciders, "Please don't make yourself sick baby."

Declan pouted, looking at me before hiccuping adorably and scrunching up his nose in distaste. "Why?" I had to grin at his cuteness. He was perfect.

"Because you are very tipsy and won't like it when you're sick."

"I'mma not tipsy, I know me limit Anth." He slurred a little but it wasn't too bad so I simply pulled him away from the open bar towards where Sarha, Pat and Cam were swaying to the music a bit and chatting casually.

"Do you three mind looking after this one for a sec? I've gotta go to the bathroom real quick." Dec giggled and tipped toed up to place affectionate kisses on my cheek, I let him do it and stroked through his hair to try and calm his hyper self down a little.

"Of course sweetie well keep 'em in check for ya." Cam smiled.

"Come on Declan, dance with me!" Sarha exclaimed with a magical smile on her face and I gave Dec the kiss he'd been silently asking for before gently bumping him over to my sister where he took her hands and began dancing, all the while laughing magically with the young blonde. Our eyes met briefly before I left and he gave me a loving grin that lit up the universe.

I walked through the room, there was no sign of Tracy since Martin had dumped her and she'd stormed home. My eyes traced over to where Timothy leant against a wall with Sebastian while they laughed and talked animatedly about something; they then flickered over to see Blake spinning Riley around delicately as they danced with loving smiles on their faces; As I stepped towards the door, away from the dance floor, Mr Donnelly tipped his imaginary hat at me from where he was sat with my mam on one of his sides, on the sofa, and Anne on the other who was scolding Earmon for something whilst Dermott's chuckled lightly next to him. Martin was sat with them, sat back with a relaxed posture sipping his beer, our eyes met, the older man grinned at me whilst placing a hand on his heart and mouthing a grateful 'Thankyou'. .

I stood in the bathroom as I closed the door behind me but didn't bother locking it. I didn't need the toilet, what I needed a space we're I could release all the emotions that flowed rapidly through me. Tears prickled at the corners of my eyes and trickled gently down my cheeks. I cried because for the first time in my life I felt like I had a family, I felt accepted, appreciated and most of all. I felt loved.

From growing up in an environment where everyone around you wanted or needed something from you. Where people took and took until you were only a shell of the happy boy you were before. Having a family around you that protects you, cares for you and forgives all your mistakes because they love you is worth more than anybody could understand.
