Alright time to see Ant all grown up being an absolute hero as usual. 😍 this story is coming to an end I'm afraid people, I just want you to be prepare for that 💔 I'm thinking of writing till chapter 50/51 and then an epilogue but we will see ❤️

Ant's POV

I gripped Declan's hand, maybe a little too tightly, as we stepped into the familiar hallway of the orphanage. The smaller man tugged me round and tip-toed up to place a chaste kiss on my lips. I closed my eyes and relaxed into it, enjoying Dec's softness before he pulled back to look at me.

"Are you sure you don't want me there Anth?"

"I'm sure... I have to do this on my own Decs... he won't trust me else." Declan nodded and slipped is arms under mine to hug my torso adorably.

"I love you, don't go believing any differently. I'll be in the games room if you need us." I kissed his head and ran my arms over his back gently.

"It's okay Dec, I love you too and nothings gonna change that." I didn't want to part from his arms but I knew what I had to do, I'd left it long enough already and the New Year's party was tomorrow so I had to do it for Dec.

"Go on Anth." He coaxed, pushing me away. "Putting it off ain't gonna make it any easier." I nodded, trying to hide my nervousness and act nonchalant by stuffing my hands in my pockets. Although Dec could see right through that, he knew i was terrified and he knew how much this meant to me.

After stepping outside into the back garden, I took a deep breath as the winter air hit me. There had been no snow this winter but the temperature was just as cold and left clouds of frozen mist with every exhale.

A waft of smoke drifted from behind a the large oak tree, the greyish wisps couldn't be mistaken for anything other than cigarette smoke. With a sigh I wandered round the trunk and took in the sight of Blake leant casually against the fence, a cigarette hanging loosely between his lips. His jet black hair was messy and matted down over his forehead with a frown tugging at his lips, I let out a bitter laugh and shook my head, he was just like me.

"Didn't know you smoked." I said, stepping forward. Blake took the cigarette from his lips.

"Come any closer and I'll smack you to the floor." I took his warning for what it was, an honest threat, he had every right to make me feel the pain Dec did so I didn't push him and stayed exactly where I was.

I stayed still for a moment before deciding it was best to move on.

"Is this a new thing? Dec hasn't mentioned it." I tried to keep my voice steady, act stoic. Dec had warned me, I couldn't jump straight in with the apology, I had to warm up to him and help him relax in my company. Unfortunately as I said, Blake was just like me, so that was easier said than done.

"I don't need a lecture, Dec gives me those all the time."

"Nah, course not. I'm in no position to judge." I left it at that, hoping he'd take the bate and engage In the conversation.

"You smoke?"

"When I was your age, smoked after school to relax before I went home."

"You quit?" Blake asked as he tossed the small butt on the floor and ground it out with his foot while stuffing his hands in his pockets.
